The "it's a boring day" draft:

Rnd 2, #43: Tyler Biadasz, C, Wisconsin: solidify the center of the OL as the New Orleans Saints like to do;
Rnd 2, #50: Adam Trautman, TE, Dayton: Even if they sign one in FA. Not sure if any of the college TEs are called on to block so he may have to learn. Release Shaheen;
Rnd 4, #41: Michael Onwenu, G, Michigan: A man mountain but moves well;
Rnd 5, #17: Amik Robertson, CB, Lousiana Tech: Garnered numerous honors this past season. Goodly number of interceptions during career;
Rnd 5, #20: Julian Blackmon, Utah: Needs work but has potential
Drafts are like snowflakes, no two are alike.

Big Boards are starting to show some OTs and WRs climb into the first. If five QBs go before the Bears draft there are suddenly some very good options at our need positions... with the exception of EDGE.

Maybe my favorite early starter trio so far:

43: R2P11 S ASHTYN DAVIS CALIFORNIA
50: R2P18 TE COLE KMET NOTRE DAME
144: R4P41 G SHANE LEMIEUX OREGON

50: R2P18 OT TREY ADAMS WASHINGTON
144: R4P41 WR ANTONIO GANDY-GOLDEN LIBERTY
163: R5P17 CB LUQ BARCOO SAN DIEGO STATE

196: R6P17 S TANNER MUSE CLEMSON
226: R7P12 WR KALIJA LIPSCOMB VANDERBILT
233: R7P19 TE DEVIN ASIASI UCLA

I like my draft. Only took Taylor cuz hew was there.

Nice, SDBF. Not a Driscoll buyer, but can't complain with much of that draft otherwise.

Once I get beyond the first 3 or 4 picks it's pretty much roulette and need.

I like him as a guard. Not so much as a tackle.

ARIZONA

I would be over the moon with landing Tate. But I'm a big U of A homer, so factor that in.
What do you think of Rhett Rodriguez? Is he going to start? He was such a terrific athlete as a kid. I coached him on my son's team for a couple of years in rec league hoops. They were in the same class before RichRod moved the family to AZ. Bryce Wolma was also in their class (which is why he ended up at AZ).
2023 Chicago Bears... emerging from a long hibernation, and hungry!

As much as I can't stand Rich Rod, his kid was phenomenal in high school. He lit it up his senior year. Unless UofA gets somebody else in the QB room like a Foles type transfer, I think the job is Rhett's to lose.

43: R2P11
CB TREVON DIGGS
ALABAMA

I'm not on board with Fuller/Toliver/Skrine + 0 depth

50: R2P18
C CESAR RUIZ
MICHIGAN

144: R4P41
SS JEREMY CHINN
SOUTHERN ILLINOIS

TE and OLB were pretty cleaned out at this point. That's been consistent at OLB, but usually TE lasts better.

163: R5P17
ILB JOE BACHIE
MICHIGAN STATE

Took him and Chinn higher than I 'had to' in this draft, bc their rankings were ridiculously, unrealistically low

196: R6P17
TE DEVIN ASIASI
UCLA

Much later than you'd like for TE, although I think he may be better than some who went ahead of him

199: R6P20
OLB CARTER COUGHLIN
MINNESOTA

At least he's probably an upgrade over Irving.
I think Fanspeak has one of our conditional trade picks too high, so I 'manually' made this pick in what I think is the right place.

226: R7P12
WR JOE REED
VIRGINIA

Flier at getting a little depth and slightly faster than anything we have (except Patterson the hybrid)

233: R7P19
P BRADEN MANN
TEXAS A&M

O'Donnel is no more than tolerable and a rookie who can match that would save us 1M

Latest from Cad Reuter with NFL.com: LSU guard Damien Lewis at 43. Lewis was the starter at RG since he transferred from a community college, 27 games in 2018 and 2019. He’s a mauler. At 50, he has the Bears selecting Kyle Dugger, safety from Lenoir-Rhône. Dugger was defensive player of the year in Division II. He could play strong safety and allow Eddie Jackson to return to free safety, where he plays better. These would be 2 strong voices.

Pro Football Focus’ Michael Renner is predicting Jacob Eason at 43 and Loyd Cushienberry III, center, at 50.

Eric Edholm of Yahoo Sports has them taking Cole Kmet at 43 and Prince Tega Wanogho at 50.

These are interesting because they show two approaches: draft starters for 2020 or draft high-end projects for 2021. Lewis and Dugger would be 2020 starters while the rest of the guys are more likely to be replacing vets down the road.

Meanwhile, I went to Fanspeak today looking for some post-combine drafting. However, only "Fanspeak Steve" board is updated and it resulted in a scenario where Tua went in the 20s and Becton was available in the 3rd so... trash.
