4 starts in 4 years. Definitely looks like a depth/SPT's guy. Nothing wrong with that, though. Going into this Eddie Jackson was the only safety under contract.

Played corner for most of his college career before switching to S as a Senior. So maybe he can cover. I prefer coverage safeties when the front 7 is good.

Sounds like they're going to handle S the same way they handled TE, which is the same way they handled K:

1) Amass giant pile of bodies
2) Pick one
3) Profit

Feels like the whole having Eddie Jackson thing kind of makes this less than a good point

I was only kidding in the other thread when I suggested Eddie play both S positions.

Fair - but this should be one where we really let FA play out. There seem to be a few SS types that will work for relatively cheap. Plus the draft

Getting a guy who can do what Eddie Jackson can do - is very, very difficult.

Getting a guy to be like Amos was - or a SS type generally - is rather easy and relatively cheap too

Amos was extremely underrated while he was here and was a perennial PFF all-pro. One year he was the top ranked safety on their site, I believe. Some ridiculous grade like a 93 or 94. I was fine with letting him go because you can only retain so many high priced guys. I just wouldn't call finding an Adrian Amos "easy".

I do believe that we can get by with a lesser SS, though. Due to how absolutely fierce our front seven looks. Along with having Eddie Jackson.
