Just curious really... whilst talking about GamePass earlier, I got to wondering about would what happen if there was no season this year and then I started wondering about other folks, particularly those who might be used to attending games with a season ticket etc.
So, hypothetically speaking, if there were no season... how would that impact you and what would you see yourself doing instead?
Me personally....
The first Sunday games start at about 6pm here. So typically I would spend most of the afternoon doing chores and then come 6pm I'd be settled down on the sofa with a takeway (normally pizza) and I barely move for the rest of the evening. I'll pretty much watch until about 11pm/midnight at which point I'd go to bed and fall asleep during Sunday Night Football.
So, the first thing I expect is that I'd be alot more productive in work on a Monday morning and a lot less tired!
Secondly I'm currently living in a house that I'm renovating- I don't have a lounge/sofa room with TV yet, so it's entirely possible that my typical football Sundays would have changed anyway! But I suspect that's what would fill the newly acquired free time.
I think the biggest impact on me would be the amount of podcasts I listen- whilst they would still exist, they would likely be a lot less interesting I expect.
I tend to listen to about ~3 hours of podcasts a day Monday-Friday and a majority of them are NFL related.
How would no football season effect you this year?

Well, I would have a lot more free time. Sundays are spent getting up early, hitting the coffee, reading about football all morning, listening to Chicago stations leading up to the games. Take in the Bear game and then post game on the radio.
If the 3p game is good, I will watch that as well.
Then Sunday night games.
I will probably spend some time in the garage doing some wood working, spend time outside with the wife.
I will be honest, I will miss it, but it will not kill me. I got used to no hockey and am over it. football will be the same.
I can watch NFL Replays on Pluto. I have watched Blackhawk replays. It is great because they always win. Pretty much 4 months without sports and I am still alive, so I will get over no football as well.

It's a nice distraction, but really it's entertainment that I "squeeze into the cracks" time-wise.
I'd just
spend more time reading other things online
spend more time playing computer games
listen to something else when driving
And, really, time for those things is in short supply during this situation, anyway. For example, I barely ever am in the car these days, anyway.

I'll be honest.... I'd miss it terribly. It's something I look forward to every year, and during the season I can't wait for Sunday to roll around.
But like anything, I'm sure I'd get along fine. My lawn would get more attention I suppose.

I'd be seriously devastated. I watch NFL almost every Monday, Thurs, and literally all day Sunday. I do other stuff too - but it is always on. It's the soundtrack to fall, and the big reason why fall is my favorite season.
When the NBA and NCAA tourney were canceled back in March, and it was clear why... my brain immediately went to "oh no... football..."
I'll find something else to do. And probably be pretty productive. But I'll be really out of sorts about it until it comes back.

I tend to watch all day Sunday and meet up with various friends for the Monday night game. We use them as the excuse to get together so I'd have to be more purposeful in inviting people to hang out and not just fall back on the football excuse.
Also, I'm in 4-5 fantasy leagues every year. So the time I spend on keeping up on those would need to get filled. Good thing I have my new hearth designed and materials bought and ready to build for my garage stove. I used to make furniture and have slowly rebuilt the tools to have a nice workshop.

I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!

Since having a kid it's been extremely rare to have a 3 hour block to just watch the game. Usually I'm multitasking like folding laundry while the game is on and then running to do something else during the commercials. I'd expect that I would just be working around the house like others have said.
Obviously I would also not be spending time reading articles, listening to Bears podcasts, and my time on the forum would go down as well too. All that time would just be gobbled up by something else.

Glad I read the other thread first before seeing that reply!
