I was half way expecting this at some point. Good move by him. He has his whole life left to experience. You want to be there for your kids. Really admired the way he played, basically putting his health on the line. He was awesome during the Cup runs.

I really liked Shaw's energy and contributions to the team ... happy to have had him on the Blackhawks ... and though I think the team will definitely miss him, I am happy he can come to grips with his concussion issues and effects and be able to now just go be a happy family man
