Over. I think Mack being completely healthy this year will draw more double teams and leave Quinn out on an island against the LT. I also think that Desai's defense is going to be more aggressive in the pass rush.

Just wanted to bump this since he's already at 5 sacks only 5 games into the season. I think a lot of us were skeptical but it looks like he's earning his paycheck now and I hope he goes on to have a record season.

I've turned around on him. He's not just pressuring the QB but he's flying all over the place like a kid who's enjoying playing the game. He's been fun to watch. I've been saying if he can only incorporate more spin moves to the inside, I think he'd already have double digit sacks. There's opportunity there for Desai to be creative like he was on that safety chip to help Mack. That was pretty. Quinn and Mack are creating so much pressure to the outside that it really does open things up. The sacks are going to keep coming.

I linked a post a doctor who specialized in drop foot wrote on Reddit. For what it's worth, he didn't have high hopes for Cohen returning to anywhere near his same form.

This thread highlights a pet peeve of mine.

We are so quick to label somebody a "slacker" based on our own, made-up narratives. (Remember "Julius Peppers takes plays off?") We don't know WHAT injuries Quinn was dealing with -- but we do see the results of what happens when he had a chance to heal.

These guys are proud, highly motivated, highly skilled professionals. And they play a game that batters their bodies every single time they take the field. Don't believe me? Here's a quick example: Look at what happens to wideouts when they dive for a ball -- even when they don't get hit -- they hit the ground. Hard. It doesn't look like much to us, but this happens time after time, day after day, from the time they are 12-13 years old. Think that doesn't take a toll? Think again.

I get that they are paid a lot of money, but these cats earn this money and very few of them are "slackers." We see a guy not "producing" like WE think they should, and we get all up in arms. Never mind that we don't see the injuries -- some mild, some serious, that would have most of us limping -- at best. These guys get paid to put their bodies on the line and in a locker room, nobody wants to be seen as a pu$$y. They push their bodies to earn the respect of their peers. (How many times have you heard a player say, "Nobody knows what goes on in this building," or, "I'm out there to support my Brothers.")

One of my favorite examples was Terrell Owens in Super Bowl 2005. TO was a classic "diva" wideout who was despised by many, but he played on the world's biggest stage on a broken leg -- and caught 9 passes for 122 yards. That's nothing but pride and self-motivation. Regardless of any off-the-field antics, dude was a soldier on it.

As fans, we get to sit on the sofa on our fat arses and shake our fists at the "overpaid players", but folks need to get a dose of reality about what football really is and the true human toll.

Maybe then, we'd be a little more careful about calling these guys "slackers."
