Will the Lions be first to go 0-17?

I (mistakenly) thought the Lions would be a competitive team, maybe even 8 or 9 wins ... after their latest debacle, they look more like the 0-16 team from a few years back ... the Eagles are not a good team, but the Lions looked like a high school team playing them this past Sunday ... granted I didn't watch that whole game because I was watching the Bears stink ... but the parts I did see were awful and the game recap later did not improve that look

They have one more game vs us so it's hard to say 0-17 is a lock.

Oh I'm sure their only win will be against the Bears on Thanksgiving Day because the Football Gods hate me.

I've been to the last two Thanksgiving games when Bears played - and they won both. The one with Daniels starting when MItch was out, and then the one where Mitch connected with Horsted for a TD and then I think ARob and then Monty for the win. Great games. Then the one in '14 I can't remember but do remember Cutler and Kyle Long getting into it with Suh? Not sure but they won.
I'm 3-3 on Turkey Day as a Bear fan and no way will they lose. They'll win by 20. As a matter of fact the Lions fans are now on board with losing out. There is a chance they could upset the Seahawks. Or maybe beat the Pack resting for the playoffs.
I'm actually looking for tickets right now. I've been holding off and just realized its only 3 weeks away!

OK so that was quick ... can't believe how cheap Lions tix are especially on Turkey Day. Picked up tickets for my wife & I for only $250 each - very first row smack in the middle of the end zone. Look for us during the game! I hope JF1 runs one in and comes nearby so I can high-five him on national TV wearing his jersey!! lolIE wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 8:26 pm I've been to the last two Thanksgiving games when Bears played - and they won both. Yeah, my first thought was the Bears and Nagy would be dumb enough to lose to them. They did almost beat the Ravens, and Goff could get hot for a half in the future. They have so many picks coming up in the draft I don't think they're tanking, plus I don't believe there is a truly #1 QB to tank for. Goff sucks, and it's difficult to believe he started in a Super Bowl.
This was always a transition season for them as Stafford made it clear he wanted out. Their GM is almost the anti-Pace for accumulating draft picks. They should be in much better shape in the next two years as Erin goes bye bye and the division is open.

San Francisco has always been my favorite booing city. I don't mean the people boo louder or longer, but there is a very special intimacy. Music, that's what it is to me. One time in Kezar Stadium they gave me a standing boo.

They are deficient in talent but have played tough. There’s a chance they don’t pull one out, but I see them getting one against someone looking past them,

If the Steelers pound the Bears on Monday, and the McCaskey's have the plums to actually fire their HC midseason, does that change your prediction on Thanksgiving Day??

Depends on who would take over and if Lazor would be allowed to install concepts of his actual offense instead of just rearranging stuff in Nagy's.Bears Whiskey Nut wrote: ↑Wed Nov 03, 2021 7:54 amIf the Steelers pound the Bears on Monday, and the McCaskey's have the plums to actually fire their HC midseason, does that change your prediction on Thanksgiving Day??

Yeah, it has occurred to me that Lazor is constrained within the framework that Nagy designed including blocking schemes and such that can't necessarily be changed wholesale overnight. But the playbook definitely has some things they can do better than others, and with some focus could be tweaked. The team has been running the ball fairly well. The WRs just can't get open, or JF1 doesn't know where to look for them (he admitted he was working with the WRs to clear some of that up and even modify routes). I think there is hope for a more focused and deliberate offense taking advantage of JF1's strengths and getting rid of much of Nagy's useless cuteness.
I do think if Nagy could be fired the offense could be better.

Your playing the pronoun game saying "they won" in reference to the 2014 game forces me to ask, who are "they"?IE wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 8:26 pm I've been to the last two Thanksgiving games when Bears played - and they won both. Haha - true it does look like that. I always refer to the Bears as "they" - because saying we sounds super-cheesy to me, like "we're on the team" or "we're the coaches". The Bears won.
I also said 3-3 and that should have been 3-0 or 3 for 3.

I'd hate to do this to you, but https://www.nfl.com/games/bears-at-lion ... -tab=watch
Maybe you left after the 1st quarter and called it good?

Shit - maybe I'm confusing that one with one of the ones from Chicago - because I've been to most of those too.KOP_Snake wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 5:52 amI'd hate to do this to you, but https://www.nfl.com/games/bears-at-lion ... -tab=watch

That's OK - I'll go for 2-0 in the last 3 years and soon to be 3-0 in 4 years.

Many times I see a horrible team and can't imagine them beating anyone, but they always do.
I figure this is probably more of the same.

Yeah - toward the end of the season they'll likely pull one out. I'll guess if anyone the Vikes lay down. Maybe Cook gets dinged or something. "Any given Sunday".

Well the Lions aren't going 0-17, but they still could be winless!

The Lions still have another game against the Bears, which gives them a great opportunity to avoid the 0-fer.

If they were to only tie another game does that mean they'd finish 1-16 even though they were still winless?
