On Peacock. A retrospetive on John Madden's career, very enjoyable. Now watching a series on Joe Montana. Passed over by the Bears and Jim Finks in 1979: Danimal and Al Harris in the 1st round, WR Ricky Watts in the 2nd, RB Willie McClendon in the 3rd. Bears had 3 QBs already, Finks said he didn't want to complicate the situation. 49ers took him with the last pick in the 3rd round. How would history have been changed if the Bears had taken him? He would have sooner than later beat out the other 3 guys but would the Bears have built a winning offense around him? Would the HC have been fired in '82 and Ditka hired? Would Buddy Ryan have left the team and the 46 defense never come to the Bears? I guess it was just the warm up for passing on Mahomes and Watson in 2017. Speculation and what-ifs, the meat and potatoes of Bears fans as reality so often lags.
Drafts are like snowflakes, no two are alike.
