A few more details of the proposed trade:
The Las Vegas Raiders are in the final stages of trading for the Packers superstar receiver and giving him a new five-year, $141.25 million contract, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. Adams will make a per-year average of $28.25 million.

The deal is expected to involve Las Vegas sending back a first-round pick, potentially more draft selections and a player, Rapoport added.

The AFC West is really stacking up some bigtime players.

This is what happens when your QB takes so much money that the team cant afford their other stars lol

I wonder if Erin is going to throw a snit now that his fave is gone. Plus St. Brown to the Bears (ok, I doubt that might upset any Packers too much). Carr is happy, reunited with his college WR.

Great watch them use that pick to snag Watson.

Eh.

Losing him will be a modest step back in 2022 (but they're still going to be a better team than the Bears).
But getting nice picks (cheaper than Adams) is going to help them down the road to delay the inevitable blow-up.

I don't know that this hurts them that much or helps the Bears that much.

That assumes the Packers will spend the additional draft picks wisely. I mean this is the team with a future HoF QB who spent a 1st round pick on Jordan Love! Their record on drafting WRs hasn't exactly been stellar in the past decade either. They've used a lot of draft picks on the position, albeit mostly on Day 3, and Adams is the only one who has been truly successful with Valdes-Scantling doing OK.

Extra draft picks are nice, but only make a difference if the GM uses them on good players. Finding the superstars isn't easy. The Packers landed one with Adams and now he's gone. The Packers may get lucky again or they might spend all the draft compensation they get on a bunch of players whose impact doesn't come close to the production they got from Adams. Only time will tell...

The Packers typically don't draft very well. Rodgers covers up a lot of that stink.

this trade had me scratching my head ... I thought once the drama with diva Rodgers was over, everything else would follow

so was the relationship between Rodgers and Adams not as rosy as the Packers painted it? there was no doubt they played very well together but there must have been other things going on I guess

I'm wondering the same thing, @Boris13c. I think the fact that Rodgers hasn't come out and said anything about the trade says something in itself.
