The secret is to work less as individuals and more as a team. As a coach, I play not my eleven best, but my best eleven.

So enjoyable watching Walter run in that unique style of his again. Amazing power for a 200 lb RB.

Nice, very nice - thanks, dave99.
There is a GM named Poles
Who has a clear set of goals
He’s rebuilt his team
So Bears’ fans can dream
Of winning some more Super Bowls

I remember reading about Sweetness training in the offseason. 100 degree heat, he'd run up sand dunes. Can't remember who, another NFL guy came down to train with him, poor guy almost died.

Strange you mention that because for some reason that popped into my head last night as well. He took another player to his infamous "hill" and the player ended up puking his guts out. Payton was just fanatic when it came to staying in shape.

Walter and Jerry Rice, both from Mississippi. Must have been something in the water.

Yup. The entire video could have been in shadow and just by looking at his running style anyone could tell it was Payton.

I was interested to see him catching passes and also not shying away from contact, using that famous stiff arm to knock defenders away even in college. And, of course, exceptional running abilities.
