We wind up with the #3 pick overall. What do you do with it as things stand today?

Trying to establish a baseline right now to see if our minds change in a year.

IF we shit the bed (and I don't think we will), but A LOT of people think we will, what would you do with the #3 overall draft pick based on how things stand today?

Again, BASED ON HOW THINGS STAND TODAY.

At #3 overall, there will be a lot of options. Including several QBs.....

I think the Bears will be bad, but I'm not seeing 3rd overall bad.

With the premise of "as things stand now", no way I give up on Fields yet.
Sadly, it may still be hard to judge after 2022, based on what he has around him.

Grab the 1sts as long as they're not too low, at least in the top 10 for 2023. Draft capitol, baby!

I'm approaching this question with the built-in assumption that the Bears will not be drafting a QB to replace JF1.

I'm either trading down to the 7-8 range with a team needing a QB or staying put and taking Jalen Carter.

If you have a top 3 pick and say Will Anderson is available, I'd stay put and just draft him. Otherwise, I'd try to trade down and acquire a haul if another team is desperate and wants to trade up for one of the top QB's. I'm not giving up on Fields.

I think the Trey Lance style trade down has Poles written all over it.

There is an Elite 3 Tech, Elite Pass Rusher, and maybe Elite WR in this class (as it stands)....Plus maybe 2 QB that are #1 worthy?

I would be doing this:

Seeing who gets picked 1-2 - if only 1 QB goes (or none)....I am trading back to maybe 4 or 5 - If 0 QBs go 1-2....I am trading back to 4-5....and if the 2nd QB is still on the board at say 5 - I am probably trading back again.

QB trade ups you tend to get the full payment and then some

Trade down or BPA...only two options that make sense unless Fields sucks bad next year.

More highly rated QBs coming out in ‘23. Teams possibly looking to draft one should include WFT, Texans, Titans, Colts, Seahawks, Loins, Vikes, Giants, every team in the NFC South. Philly if Hurts fails big time. Cleveland if Watson is still in legal limbo and Mayfield will be gone. Could be a strong sellers market for teams.

Depends on who's available.

Anderson
Carter

It’s the off-season, camp hasn’t started yet and there’s little of note to talk about, and it’s within the realm of possibility for this to happen. It doesn’t make one less of a fan to debate the point. Don’t participate if you don’t like the subject.

FWIW - Walter Football has the Bears taking Anderson at 2 after the Texans take Stroud at #1.

I think Fields is/was a better prospect than Stroud.

Anderson is supposed to be something special, I could see it. No WR or OL prospects rated as high as this year, at least at this time.

I still think the Bears will be picking just outside of the top 10. But Anderson does have that generational talent vibe around him.

I don’t see them at #2 or #3 either, more #7 to #12. But it is a possibility and an off-season speculation in lieu of real news.

hard to say that fields is a better prospect than stroud. give him a chance to throw a football for OSU. that opener against ND will be tough.

Man if they are in the top 3 its really hard to pick. If Anderson is there 100% him. I think it's to early for this poll. I would say after the last 3 games a QB is out unless one is off the charts.
