New coach. Inexperienced OC. Inexperienced DC. Expectations low, very low for some. The loss put them at 2-2. Not sure what people expect. This is a bad team. It was bad before the season started, it is bad now and will be bad for the rest of the year. They will have a game where things click and win. They will probably have a game where a team sucks as bad as they do and they will eek out a W. There will NOT be a game all year that they will dominate, so do not expect it.
And for people that are talking about looking for a QB in next year's draft......REALLY? Because this franchise has done so well in that department. We have to hope that Fields can at least be a decent starting QB.

Second year Mitch had a defense that scored for them. This year's edition helps but so far not close to being dominant, particularly run D.
At least the Patrick-Jenkins platooning came to an end.

That was one of the worst games I've seen in awhile. The Giants did everything they could to hand us the game, and we didn't have enough talent to take advantage of anything. I'm not sure if it's Fields, the receivers, or Getsy. Maybe they're all bad. The Bears came out and Fields ripped a ball right over the center for 15 yards, and then we NEVER saw anything similar. No slants, no shallow crosses. Fields is not throwing to the open target, but is more interested in pulling the ball down and scrambling out to the edge. Receivers have no suddenness at the top of their routes. A lot of rounding and drifting. This is just a bad team. Luckily I'm camping next weekend and won't have to watch.
I'm going to say it now. Flus + HITS = Trestman + Grow the Man. I also don't see Getsy developing anyone. He didn't have to develop a QB in Green Bay. Just stroke his ego, and fetch the Gartorade.
So frustrated right now.

Still missing open guys, holding the ball too long, and taking bad sacks.

I’m mostly worried about Getsy. I don’t think it’s Fields, he’s shown even last season that he can throw, and can make plays.
We know the receivers lack talent but they’re not much worse than last year. Kmet, well we’re still waiting on him.
They seem totally inhibited, that comes back to coaching and play calling.
Flus might be looking for a different OC soon because the offense has stunk in every game.

The Giants had Barkley today...and that's about it. And we still couldn't stop them. That PA to naked boot was RIDICULOUS!!! Find the fucking ball. How many times did we fall for that?? Five, six, or more?
Re Qb - the past will mean nothing to Poles - if fields doesn’t show him what he wants to see, he’ll likely treat Justin the way the cardinals handled Josh Rosen. In my opinion any way
Outside of that, this team is terrible - they don’t have the talent to contend. Today, they were also hamstrung by Luke Getsy, who called a bad game imo

There’s zero comparison between Eberflus and Trestman. The former was a highly regarded dc when he was hired. Trestman had been exiled to canada.
The bear roster, by design, is bereft of talent. Folks who think this isn’t a tear down aren’t paying attention

Fields looked better this week. It’s a small silver lining but after his play last game I’ll take it.
Eddie Jackson had a nice game. Saved at least one touchdown while the rest of the defense was utterly lost time and again.
Rough, rough game for the Bears otherwise.

I know its a tear down. I know that they aren't supposed to be good. But at least put up a fucking fight. Beat teams you should be able to beat. Giants fans are saying the same about the Bears. Do the Bears have a QB? I am really. Don't go on hype, college play, go on this year. Do they have a QB? I am not sure the Bears SHOULD beat anyone.

I don't get it though. Are the defenses just confusing the shit out of Justin?? He comes out and on the first play rips a 15 yard stop route to Mooney. Good anticipation, stood in the pocket and fired it. Then it was like it was all downhill from there. He had that other long pass to Mooney. But those two plays were about 30% of his yards for the whole game.

New offense. Everybody has to be on the same page or it fails. I'm sure Fields owns some of the issues, but others are just as likely involved in the mistakes.
It's gonna be a long season and by the end, Poles and Co. must have a clear picture of what they have with Fields. Nothing else matters.
To do this, they have to open up the offense, come what may.

What a hillbilly jug-F*#k of a game!
The 2 coordinators got out-coached. Williams couldn't adjust his players to stop the boot. Gordon is lost out there, he is the opposition go-to for 3rd down. Let him play outside, or pull him on 3rd passing downs. He can be good, but isn't ready yet. The D line was pretty bad overall. Brisker showed he can correct mistakes in game, and that was good.
Patrick need to move to C, he isn't doing well at G on either side, and Mustifer sucks. Jenkins might be the best lineman, only 1 with some real nasty and getting to the next level. Not sure what's going on but changes to the line have got to happen...4 games and this line sucks in pass pro. Move Patrick to C, give Leathwood a shot, move Jenkins to LT b/c Braxton Jones is as lost as Gordon. Cmet is a joke. Getsy's play calling was bewildering. Wtf is up with starting the 2nd with Ebner? You don't come out behind in the 2nd half starting an unproven, with taking a lead on line, and bench the guy who gave you 2 TDs and 150 yards.
Fields played better in some ways. His scrambles were great, he had some really nice throws to go with some misses. I feel like I can't say much between bad plays calls, him under relentless pressure all day, and drops. I feel like I've said this same thing over the years too.... Glad Mooney has started getting going.

One thing that nobody's talking about... Our pass rush was non-existent today and that's why the Cowboys gave the Giants so much trouble. Combine that with the failure to execute on the contains, we could've still won with Barkley running for 140. But we have to pressure the QB and force mistakes. Without that, they're making plays with nobodys running routes. Fields was pressured a huge percentage of the time and played better despite that. The wide displays didn't show guys open like we've seen in weeks past. That's a small feather in Fields' cap. Fields and Jones weren't playing the same game. Not even close.Bears Whiskey Nut wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 3:38 pm That was one of the worst games I've seen in awhile. No - Whitehair went down - Patrick came in for him

Actually Braxton Jones wasn’t bad today - there were some bad protection calls - per fields post game presser - that made Jones look like he didn’t pick some guys up. Borom continues to be an issue and Patrick was a poor substitute for Whitehair

Getsy is just overprotecting JF1 and I'm done with that. Ti develop a guy and get some confidence under his belt, you have to risk throwing in the end zone. This was an EASY EFFING WIN but Getsy just pussed out and refuses to give JF1 a chance in the red zone. This loss was on Getsy.

It takes Fields way to long to figure out where a receiver is going to be, thus cannot complete a pass to anyone less than 15 yds away. Getsy knows this and so is really limited in what plays can be called in the red zone.

Yea Patrick got immediately rag dolled his first play in for Whitehair for an awful sack. Yet again, the moment Teven came into the game, I noticed him stoning guys in pass pro, hustling downfield, and pushing people around. He gets beat sometimes, everyone does, but he physically dominates his man like no other player we have on our roster. He simply must play, it's so goddamn obvious. And Getsy needs to let Justin fucking play - he's way too conservative. Queue up all the "well Fields sux so he has to be conservative" comments - I don't care - maybe, just maybe, he'll change his play if we just let him play out there.artbest01 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 5:59 pm Actually Braxton Jones wasn’t bad today - there were some bad protection calls - per fields post game presser - that made Jones look like he didn’t pick some guys up. So I'll get called a homer for sure, but I want to stress how excited I was about the Getsy hire. So I'm invested in both Fields and Getsy equally. But dammit you guys nailed it - this loss was on Getsy AND Williams/Flus. Getsy for being WAY too conservative, playing for FG's is playing to lose not win. And Williams for repeatedly getting beat on naked bootlegs, just over and over again. You saw one QB (Jones) have like a dozen layup plays that were just schemed beautifully and outfoxed the Bears. You saw another QB (Fields) have very few layups - and of course, he missed two of them! WTF Fields?!?! But even while true he missed a couple layups, the layup VOLUME (which means scheme vs scheme) was dramatically in favor of the Giants. Daboll pantsed Flus. And Getsy shit the bed.Ditka’s dictaphone wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 6:07 pmYESIE wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 6:04 pm Getsy is just overprotecting JF1 and I'm done with that.
