Good grief.
No, Damar Hamlin was not replaced by a body double

Activists who blamed NFL star Damar Hamlin's on-field collapse this month on Covid-19 vaccines have concocted another baseless conspiracy theory - that the player has been replaced by a "body double" or even a "clone".

It's an escalation of rumours that circulated after Mr Hamlin's injury.

The latest allegations claim the player is dead and has been "replaced".

The anti-vaccination activists stoking the wild claims on Twitter have provided no proof.

A “clone”

That’s right, clone a fully grown man in a matter of weeks in order to perpetuate a myth.

Fair play to the scientists who achieved this

I am really happy about his recovery and the league deserves credit for the preparedness and rapid, appropriate action that saved him.

Ignorant folks can blow smoke about it but that's just hot air and fart gas - not worth wasting a response.

So - good for the NFL, good for the health care workers, and best of all good for Lamar.

If anyone has a NYT subscription, there was a neat article about the hospital response that saved him.

A bump for this thread. An incredible recovery.
Jaquan Brisker: It’s been great to see Damar Hamlin thrive

Bears safety Jaquan Brisker is thrilled to see his friend Damar Hamlin — the Bills safety who went into cardiac arrest during a Jan. 2 game and needed to be revived — return to a normal life.

Amazingly, the Bills safety is a full participant at training camp.

“It’s been great,” Brisker said Friday. “Seeing him get back, just walking period. Forget the football stuff. Just walking back and being able to be with his family and things like that, his friends. It’s always great to see that.”

Brisker has been friends with him since the eighth grade. Both are from the Pittsburgh area.

“I’m glad he’s able to see his parents and things like that — able to see him smile,” Brisker said.

Brisker joked that Hamlin spent the offseason on a “tour” of enviable events, including the Super Bowl, NFL Honors and ESPYs.

Brisker paid tribute to Hamlin in the Bears’ season finale last year.
