A week away from the deadline to apply tags, Renck adds Broncos-Jones talks have not generated much progress (Twitter link). Jones, 26, stacks up as a fringe tag candidate but more likely can be classified as a player the Broncos want to keep but not tag. That said, the Broncos will consider it with Jones, Mike Klis of 9News tweets.
I don't think Denver has much cap space but teams do seem to be able to manufacture space whenever it becomes important.
The secret is to work less as individuals and more as a team. As a coach, I play not my eleven best, but my best eleven.

Well, Sean Payton is from the Mickey Loomis school of Cap Management, so I would say the cap won't stand in their way of what they want to do. Or cash, with the Wal-Mart money there.

I prefer Hargrave
If we were contending this year, sure.
But based on this team’s window, I’ll take the 26 year old over the 30 year old.
I figure most feel this way. Personally I don’t look past 4 years on a FA contract so it doesn’t matter much to me. And Hargrave is the more proven player, I get nervous spending top $$ on a player that hasn’t arrived fully yet.

Hargrave was a 4.5 sack a year guy until this season. I worry about paying for a 30yr old who may never reach that level of performance again.

That too - though he was always productive overall too - it wasn't like he leapt from being a nobody
But yeah - expecting the Sack numbers again is probably wishful thinking
DTs putting up big sack numbers (double digit) are almost like unicorns. Most are in or will be in the Hall of Fame. Someone getting 5 to 7 sacks but consistently putting pressure on the QB and crushing the run game will be more the norm.
[Where are my old Chicago Bears and what have you done with them, Ryan Poles?

Is he a DE or DT? Is that just a typo in the tweet?
He has played both. 6’3” 280-290. I would say 3 tech or heavy DE.
Could he be the bears next Akeem Hicks type, sign for a good contract and blossom type player.
He is a serious upgrade to anything and still young.
He played DE and DT in Denver's 3-4. I'm imagine he's the 3T if the Bears sign him. I think it'll be a better position for him in this defense plus Flus and Poles like tall rangy DEs.

From what I have heard Jones can play the 3T , 1T and " heavy end" . He, or Hardgraves and whoever the target is for RT has to be day one signs right?
That’s where I’m at too rtd.
We need 2 on the D line and at least one on the O line.
I’d be happy with a C and a G (cut Whitehair) too.
