I have been in Corporate America for over 20 years. I have seen the dumbest people get promoted. The ass kisser. The diversity promotion. The nepotism promotion. The hot chick get promoted. You name it, there's a decent chance I've seen it.
Now this. The Chiefs deserve whatever they get.

Him being Fake OC isn't going to hurt them any.
But if he gets the HC job when Reid leaves, or somewhere else...that's when the (fun/pain) starts, depending on your perspective.

Wait - when did you move to Chicago? You've got a bunch of us thinking your home is Florida.
You can't be living in two places at once so which is it?
Second home up north? - or did you actually relocate to Illinois?
Well?

I do not live in Chicago, I live in West Palm Beach. I would still write that post the same way because I’m speaking as a Bears fan. I suppose I could have said "here with The Bears" instead? Nice to see the troll didn’t fall far from the tree , odd post even for you.
Do you live in Chicago? And if so, which retirement home?

Trestman was brought in for Offensive expertise, which he had
Nagy was brought in for Offensive expertise, which he didn't have

I suspect the Trestman issue is largely who he was chosen over.
But still. Ten years ago.
KFFL refugee.
Lost a bet that the Bears wouldn't trade #1 overall, so I "pony"'d up. Never been so happy to be so wrong.

Did he have offensive expertise, though? His answer towards the end for every 3rd and long was a WR screen that went for 2 yards. He was and is a glorified motivational speaker that never really learned a second trick.
Beyond that though, I believe that Nagy still had the locker room til the end, whereas Trestman was basically Milhouse's dad getting fired from the cracker factory.
I'm 100% with WAB on this, though I think it's partially because Trestman was where Bear's fatigue finally overcame my fandom, and failures from that point on just dont hurt as much when you cant really be hurt anymore.

Trestman was just the most visible target for hatred/rage/apathy/disgust/whatever.
The problem was bad management choices:
Keeping Lovie too long after he'd clearly shown what he was.
Bringing in an Offensive Guru to "win before the window closes on the defense" after the window had already closed on the defense
Hiring arguably the worst GM the Bears have ever had
If everyone of defense was magically 2 years younger when Trestman got there, he could have done something.
If they had rebuilt around Trestman and he was allowed to axe the Malcontent Assholes Angry About Lovie's Departure that he was forced to keep, he maybe could have done something.
Trying to win with washed up prima donnas , nobody could have done anything with.
Trestman took a former R3 QB who'd bounced around with no real success anywhere, played in the UFL, then was out of football, and turned him into a 109 rated QB (with no talent around him, as the Cutler apologists always claimed) who became wealthy and fairly sought after.

"Here in Chicago" means you are posting from Chicago, which you are not. I neither live in Chicago nor have I implied that I do, as you have.
When you post things that folks know to be untrue, it hurts your credibility and sounds a lot like BS.

Oh Pus c'mon. I haven't lived in Chicago in 20 years but it'll always be right here with me (specifically in my arteries, restricting blood flow).

Apparently Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said he chose former Bears head coach Matt Nagy as his offensive coordinator after interviewing Pep Hamilton and Marcus Brady for the job.
