I don't love the costs but that's not my main issue: what I HATE is having to search through seven different apps to find which one has the show I want to watch...Arkansasbear wrote: ↑Wed Apr 19, 2023 8:27 amYep. I'd love a service that would just let you set it up a la carte. I have no need for the Disney Channel, Disney Junior, PBS Kids (Disney + very much but not the channel), Nickelodeon (or any of their spinoffs), Telemundo or any other Spanish network, MTV, VH1 and a host of others. Have a flat fee to get everything but if you want to just pick what you want, you just pay for them. It would clearly be a higher cost "per unit" but the total cost could be much less.grendel2000 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 19, 2023 6:29 am
Ugh.
I just signed up to get Sunday Ticket and because Hulu has sucked for me. I didn't realize NO HISTORY CHANNEL!!!
WTF
God I hat what this whole "cut the cord" thing has devolved into. I didn't think it could get worse than cable. I was wrong.

Supposedly YouTube is offering its NFL package for $100 off if signed up before June 6.
Eberflus, Getsy, and Poles' should have had their bags packed and car waiting to take them to airport by halftime of the Chief's game

I'd like to cut off Direct TV but wife would bitch, as she is NOT technical proficient. I have DTV ultra package so I guess I need to just get the discounted NFL package. I was thinking to just go Nigerian to get Bears games but I have had free NFL package getting that free when they wanted to keep me spewing all $260 a MONTH for a shitload of channels we never use.
Also I don't know if my bandwith is fast and good enough. I rent a guest house to winter visitors $3000 a month and am booked Nov-May to folks that want to be here every year. They are bandwith hogs though..
So I wm going to see what DTV will offer me if I call to cut them.. I am in the foothills no cable and DSL Century stink is offering 1mp service ! So I have wireless but only 15 mps..BUT they may get it to 50mps.."soon"..
Yelling at clouds here.
Also I rent another home I have here that uses my DTV online home we'll see !! Dam clouds,,
I used Clean Streams to get Chicago channels at $20 a month but It also offers me other cities too..

Is there strong cell signal at your rental house ? Both Verizon and T-mobile offer Internet through cellular for $50 a month. I used the Verizon service for a year and it was very reliable with no data caps, I also used T-mobile a bit but not as extensively. Also you could look at Satellite through starlink which my friend who lives in a valley in Vermont uses and swears by.docc wrote: ↑Sun Apr 23, 2023 10:33 pm I'd like to cut off Direct TV but wife would bitch, as she is NOT technical proficient. It started recording the college games now, I don't know, must've had something wrong or just a glitch for the first couple.
There's been some good and some bad with Youtube tv, I think it's enough bad to try fubo or direct tv's streaming. I suspect they won't be much better, I think my gripe is mostly with not being able to channel surf quite like I used to and I doubt anyone can offer that right now. Anyway, after I check those out, I'll probably just end up going back to youtube, but we'll see.

YES! THIS! Just need some sort of aggregator that's smooth and easy. Maybe a box or stick that will offer multiple screens running different apps that you can switch between but get right back to quick and easy. MLB on my apple tv has a picture in picture function but I haven't quite gotten the hang of it. Maybe they'll figure it out at some point.grendel2000 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 5:57 amI don't love the costs but that's not my main issue: what I HATE is having to search through seven different apps to find which one has the show I want to watch...Arkansasbear wrote: ↑Wed Apr 19, 2023 8:27 am
