He was larger than life man. the guy played for 9 years and did more in that span of time than some of the greatest ever did in 12+. In 1963 he ran for 1863 yards. Averaged 6.4 yards a carry and 133 yards a game. GOAT indeed.

Just a total beast who made an everlasting impact on the game. An inspiration to who knows how many RBs and other football players.

God got Himself one hell of a RB today. That's a nice backfield with Brown and Walter.

Whatever he died of I hope it was peaceful, painless, and he had family and friends with him.

RIP to the GOAT. He played in 12 and 14 game seasons and still gained so many yards. Admired Walter S his type of player.

So pleased to see Bears fans realizing who the greatest RB ever is. RIP Jim Brown.
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

Bumped into him twice in airports with my father who was a huge jim brown the player and man fan. He was very gracious, shook hands, spoke a minute and then went on his way.

Here were the 5 guys drafted before Jim Brown in the '57 draft:

#5: Len Dawson, Pittsburgh. Didn't make it with the Steelers, HOF QB with the Chiefs
#4: Ron Kramer, Packers. HOF
#3: John Brodie, 49ers. Good QB
#2: Jon Arnett, Rams. Good halfback
#1: Paul Hornung, Pack. The Golden Boy

Agreed. A GOAT on the field and even better off it. Hope there's a tribute like all NBA teams did for Bill Russell because that's only analogous on and off that's so similar I can think of.
