Loved watching all those games. Wright went up a lot of good, future NFL talent-- all with different strengths. Our man came out on top every time. Beautiful thing to watch.
Alabama: Anderson #18 (speed to power) and Dallas Turner #15 ( top 10 pick next year.) This tape is pretty well know by now.
LSU: BJ Ojulari #18. Great bend and jump step moves.
Pitt: Cancey#8 on more than one instance and Boldanado#87. Two guys with power and pass rush moves.
Florida: A bit of Gervon Dexter#9 but mostly against Brenton Cox#1 who could have been a good DE prospects but turned into an off the field mess (was dismissed from the football programs at both Georgia and Florida.)
Georgia: Takes on Jalen Carter#88 (and handles him very well) as well as a range of other nfl prospects.
Missouri: Take on McGuire#9 a bit but as this is a 21 tape, we get to see him from the left side. Tennessee offense was Just WAY too much for Mizzou. They crushed them. It was like 42-10 at the half.
Kentucky: Wright is matched against their top DL, 290 lb 3-5 DE Octavious Oxendine#8. Wright just owns him. I almost felt sorry for how badly Wright was treating this guy. It's great tape.

We've discussed it before but the retired number thing has outlived its usefulness. I support all numbers being available except maybe one or two clear faces of a franchise (e.g. Payton, Halas), and the rest of the retired number players go into a "Ring of Honor" where they get their due respect & worship or whatever - maybe in a new hall / museum in the new stadium. But I don't give a shit if someone sports Sayers or Butkus or Singletarys or Urlachers or Bill George's or even Red Grange's 77.
I hate Wright's number he'll have to be an all-pro for me to stop hating it. lol

It would be better to retire numbers for a generation rather than in perpetuity. Perhaps for 10 years after a player retires or leaves a team just as a mark of respect. At most numbers should be 'unretired' 10 years after a player's death.
In virtually every case other players wore the number before, so I see little reason players can't ever wear the number after.
I like that PJ song but it always seemed hilarious to me what Vedder did with it. So he wrote this intro he really liked, and maybe couldn't figure out where to go from there - so he just slapped the English Beat's Save it for Later on the end with different lyrics. lol He even sings the Beat lyrics in concert sometimes - I appreciate the honesty.

I like that Poles sensed the market and didn't get cute and try to trade down too far (and I felt the exact same way at the time).
Not sure if I would have gone Wright or Jones.
Also not entirely convinced that he's great value for a top 10 pick (he was generally ranked 15-30ish, I believe). For example, McGlinchey was picked at 9(?) and, while he's become a solid, valued starter, he's also still not what you envision when you think "top 10 OT". Which isn't to say I'm against the pick, just that it was born of necessity, in the way the roster, FA, and draft shook out, and it might be less return than you ideally/typically aim for.
