Can players that are suspended by placed on the IR, thus freeing up a spot?
I ask because Jameson Williams is suspended the first 6 games and as I understand the NFL roster rules he won't count against the 53-man roster. But I think that doesn't happen until week 1, so I wouldn't be able to move him until then.

Generally the answer is 'no.' I carried Ridley in a valuable roster spot in another league for well over a season while he first sat out with a "mental break" and then a full season suspension.
