My Bears fandom might be scabbing over by now. And Reservation Dogs is over. So what the heck, another tv show that I think you'll dig.

A bunch of 'round-30 working-class scrappers do what they must to keep roofs over their heads in northwest England (boracic lint -> skint). Which involves a lot of robbery, a nice grow operation, some bare-knuckle boxing, and whatever other opportunities present themselves. Some guys lose heads and limbs along the way.

So it's fun, if you like that sort of thing. It'll ring a bell, I'll bet, if you grew up working class in a suburb, even in the US. It did for me--it's a sort of grown-up version of the shit we used to get into and a funny version of the shit my grandfather and great-uncles did. And it's got Michelle Keegan (if the name doesn't ring a bell, just thank me later).

Speaking of Keegan, though, the real genius here is the fact that they've somehow surrounded Joe Gilgun, one of the best actors alive, with a cast that's just as good. The writing's great, the cast is perfect, and the tension between desperate stakes and the need to accept them as part of a live well lived is unlike much I've seen.

Seasons 1-3 are on Hulu, which is now two series behind. If you know a Brit, maybe they've got a way to getcha series five.
So much road and so few places, so much friendliness and so little intimacy, so much flavour and so little taste.

Friendship is better than fighting, but fighting is more useful.

Soooooo Brassic, just watched and kinda loved it. Loved all the characters, particular the little tough guy who’s always in a track suit (I cant remember any of their names lol). The main guy is really good too

Hadn't heard of this, which is funny as it's apparently based on a town called Chorley (good cakes that aren't cakes) about 20 miles away from where I grew up. I'll have to give ait a watch.
"I wouldn't take him for a conditional 7th. His next contract will pay him more than he could possibly contribute.".

Noted Brain Genius Malk, Summer 2018.

(2020 update, wait, was I right...)
