It's verrrry interesting that Rogers has become an NFL referee booster and supporter. Now he wants full-time officials with more pay. Makes me a stronger believer that Rogers always got special treatment from the refs when he was with Green Bay. Now he's blatantly cultivating the zebras trying to get that same kind of favoritism for the Jets.
This was taken from Pat McAfee's show. Sorry I couldn't just post the link.

Officiating in the NFL has been a hot topic for decades now. From potential rule changes, to consistency in calling games, to the officials themselves, refereeing is just as important to the league as anything else.
While the average NFL referee salary has crossed $200K, per Money.com, NFL officials are not deemed "full-time employees" of the league. In fact, most have other occupations, such as bankers, teachers and tax managers, per footballzebras.com.
During his weekly appearance on the "Pat McAfee Show," New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers said he believes it could help to have all of the officials be full time.
"I do think that it would probably help to have all of them full time, said Rodgers. "I think increase in pay probably as well, it's a really important part of our game, we're a billion-dollar industry. I think those men and women deserve to be paid appropriately where they can make this their full-time gig.
"They got a tough job to do, to make calls in real time, and they're as scrutinized as the quarterbacks and kickers are, as they have one job to do and that's to interpret the rulebook in zero time possible. I think it's good that we have the extra official in the box to help them out with several calls, avoid some of these unnecessary challenges. But I think full time, yes. More pay, definitely yes."

“It’s important that we have fun during this process,” Eberflus said. “You know, this is still a game. We want to have fun in the process. We want to do it together."

How many times have we watched the games, whether Green Bay plays the Bears or not, and the calls go GB's way in close games?
Remember this?

I don't know how telling that is.
Everybody who cares about NFL football ought to be in favor of FT refs, higher pay, more training.

And I think they are, it's just that no one loves the sound of their voice as much as Aaron does. And no one else is being payed a million dollars to appear on a podcast every week to say whatever they want.
OR it could be a grand conspiracy. It's really tough to say.

Full time refs and a sky judge with full autonomy to quickly change any call (or at least force the refs to take a QUICK second look). And I mean ANY call made (not missed calls that weren't made), from holding to PI to roughing...these calls change games and there's no reason not to fix them. The NFL has the money and the technology to do this, right now, at very minimal cost, with the technology that they already have on hand, and WITHOUT INTERRUPTING THE FLOW OF THE GAME AT ALL. Yes, this can be done without a bunch of stoppages if you do it right.
