Interesting that a team considered to have a pretty strong DL sees the need to add another guy. I thought SF might try to add secondary help; guess they figured if the QB is on his ass, that deficiency will be covered up. Conditional 3rd sounds like a rental for the rest of the season. The Bears could have looked at him in FA next offseason if he comes available.

The knee seems fine - for now at least - wasn't a career ender
