I know some Cubs have lost their shit over this. Still attached to that 2016 team. You get one of the best in Counsell, move on Cubs fans.

Those fans are letting their heart rule their head.

You get the chance to land one of the better managers in baseball, you do it.

They are the ones still pissed that Bryant and Javy are elsewhere. What have they done since? Nada.

OMG. I'm a huge Cubs fan and I love this move. It's bold and it's the right hire. Counsell is awesome and has done wonders with a small market team like Milwaukee. Just hoping we can resign Bellinger.

Surprised to see the move, but happy. Ross was a mid-tier manager who will remain with the Cubs in some capacity I'm sure. Whether it's now or later.

Counsell's hire indicates a big Cubs free agency to come.

You would certainly think so.

They are either going to sign Bellinger and one other big name, or they're all in on the Ohtani sweepstakes. I could also see Hader wanting to sign with the Cubs to reunite with Counsell.

Bellinger's going to get a lot of Cub offers, but it depends on his thinking. He bet on himself and won, so he can choose where he wants to lay down roots at this point. Hopefully it's near Chicago.

As far as Ohtani goes, he's a bit of a wild card. His bat would be worth a huge deal alone, but as a pitcher he may not be useful for another year, maybe more. Tough to say.

Just the way Counsell held a bat as a player makes me skeptical of his coaching ability.

$700,000,000 for THE GUY...Angels get a DH for a year or so..then he may come back from another Tommy John to be the 2 way all time great..

That will buy a load of Sushi..

Ridiculous if you ask me. Don't wish any injury on him but I hope he can't do anything but DH to screw the Dodgers
