Christian Mahogany interests me. I wonder if he's played center. Being as short as he is, I feel like he'd really be able to get leverage at that position.

I dunno. He's got comparable dimensions to Andrew Billings.

I have to admit that I'm intrigued by the idea of McCormick playing C. One week of practice isn't enough to convince me — he didn't play anywhere except LG for the Jackrabbits and doesn't appear to have taken snaps there before Frisco— but it adds something to his evaluation.

I don't know why people have been sleeping on Washington. I think he's probably the 4th or 5th best WR in the class.

A lot of his stats at Northwestern in the 2022 season looked like volume accumulation, but in 2023 he bounced right back to the yards-per-catch he was in 2021, so 2022 looks like the aberration. Still, he's roughly the same size as Wes Welker or Dazz Newsome: short, but stocky; and quick, but not especially fast. He'd have to run really well in Indianapolis to be a Day 2 selection, and I don't see that kind of speed.

From my original list, one big hit (Dadrion Taylor-Demerson) and a fair bit of meh (Carson Steele, Tayvion Robinson, Christian Roland-Wallace, Tarheeb Still).
Jalen Coker has looked decent, but not great. His lack of top speed and explosion is more noticeable here than at the Hula. He still catches most everything he gets his hands on, so probably remains worth a Day 3 look. I read something comparing Coker to Puka Nacua; Coker is heavier than Nacua (roughly about the size of Juju Smith-Schuster or Davante Adams) and likely won't be as quick, but Coker also runs really crisp routes and can win the same way as Nacua. He's not likely to rack up 1400 yards as a rookie, though. LOL
Matt Lee's lack of power at C showed up all over; I don't think he's more than a spot starter, which is a shame because he's started 47 games at C between Miami and Central Florida. Dylan McMahon has started twice as many games at G than he has a C, but with that frame he's a C-only guy — he's actually smaller than Doug Kramer. He doesn't have Kramer's issue with strength, so that may give him a chance. Jalen Sundell looked like just a guy, but he also got invited to the Combine, so maybe I'm off-base.
Beyond my list of guys I wanted to see, I definitely didn't anticipate Mason McCormick flashing the way he did; he showed really good power and was a lot quicker than I thought. Dude was dominant all week. Kudos to him — I need to go back to the game tape. Meanwhile, Walter Rouse looked better than he has since his Stanford days, and Renardo Green reminded me that he's a solid player. I think he's too small to go Day 2, but I'll bet he's off the board early on Day 3.
Lastly, I believe this is the last year any of the service academy players will get to defer their service commitment. I don't know if Trey Taylor has enough speed to win a starting spot, but he can certainly make a roster and contribute as a reserve DB.
