2024 Reese's Senior Bowl

From my original list, one home run (Quinyon Mitchell) and one big hit (Darius Robinson, though definitively at DE and not at DT). Ben Sinnott, Malachi Corley, and Keith Randolph Jr were fine, if not great; but Beau Brade was invisible after the early part of Day 1 practice. That's a miss.

Jackson Powers-Johnson was obviously the big winner at C. I think Day 1 is really rich for a guy with 16 career starts, but I won't deny he looked terrific in his three days of practice, and his ability to play G gives him value if center proves hard to handle. None of Andrew Raym, Kingsley Eguakun, or Charles Turner III especially distinguished themselves at C, and that left openings for guys like Dominick Puni and Tanor Bortolini, who did a fair bit of rotating between G and C in the Senior Bowl itself. Puni, in particular, looked very solid at both spots.

Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint had a decent week, and made a very nice catch for the first TD of Saturday's game. Whittington (like Sedrick Van Pran) bowed out before the weigh-in, so it's wait until the Combine on those two.

Beyond the list of guys I wanted to see, Dylan Laube was an eye-opened for sure. Bigger than I thought he'd be coming from FCS (at 5095/210, he's roughly Khalil Herbert or Kenneth Walker's size), he catches the ball like Austin Ekeler and returns punts too. Much of his draft stock will depend on how he runs, but right now he looks like an early Day 3 guy, especially in a shallow RB class. Meanwhile, the aforementioned Puni impressed me a lot, and Eric Watts looked like a ball of clay in need of molding into a force at DE — he looked more impactful than Myles Cole, and is nearly as physically gifted.

Lastly, I am not a proponent of spending draft picks on kickers or punters. That said: Tory Taylor had a very good week and was impressive in the Senior Bowl itself. He's also going to be 27 in July. It may matter a lot less for a specialist, but I still don't know that I'm willing to spend any draft capital on him.

I think they're going to be among those guys who go much higher than most mocks put them. Robinson probably in the 1st. I wouldn't be surprised if Corley doesn't jump up into the 2nd.

WR is largely a stopwatch position, so Corley's draft slot will depend a lot on how fast he runs (or how fast teams estimate him to be if he doesn't run). If he's at least 4.50 or so, he's early Day 2 for sure.

Hmm. The RBs are also meh so I'm struggling in my mocks to get value+need in Rd 4 and 5. Maybe safeties I guess?

Rd 1&2 = QB, EDGE, WR, DT
Rd 2&3 = OC, WR, DT
Rd 3&4 = Umm.. S? More WRs?
Rd 4&5 = I got nothing. Backup CBs?

Javon Foster from Mizzou, Christian Jones from Texas, Matt Goncalves from Pitt are interesting to me. I'm a big fan of Isaiah Adams out of IL, who has G/T positional versatility, but he might creep up come draft day above that mid-round label.

But I also wonder if Roy Mbaeteka may get a legitimate shot.

One of the players I really liked at the Senior Bowl as a fit for the Beloved is 3T Braden Fiske of Florida State.

He transferred to FSU from Western Michigan, Home of Dan Bazuin.

He's taller (6-4) than Newton and Murphy and can probably be had in the 2nd round. He dominated at the Senior Bowl (especially the game) and was voted best Defensive Lineman at the SB by the Offensive Lineman. Reminds me of Bryan Breese last year out of Clemson.

Mbaeteka will likely get a look at minicamp and early in training camp, but I'm skeptical there's anything there.

As for later T prospects, I agree that Christian Jones is interesting enough to be on my radar. He turns 24 before the draft, though. Andrew Coker (TCU) and Walter Rouse (Oklahoma via Stanford) both look like they have enough athleticism and skill to stick at least as swing guys; I think Rouse in particular has the potential to be more than that. And Josiah Ezirim (Eastern Kentucky) looks like a draftable lottery ticket; he spent three seasons as a DE before being moved to RT and starting 19 games in 2022 and 2023.
