I like Monk a lot. The way Poles, Cunningham, and Morgan loved the attitude, leadership, and toughness Lucas Patrick provided, they're likely to like Monk too. Dude is a two-time team captain, has experience starting at G and C (plus 12 starts at RT as a freshman), and is a total redass on the field. I love him.

I'll be very surprised if Kiran Amegadjie makes it to Day 3, @crueltyabc. I think he's a Round 2 lock.

Yeah you’re right. I’ll don’t know how I got the impression he was a sleeper

They're vanishing.

But they may get some throwins with Fields.

And I think a trade down from 9 is steadily creeping towards Guaranteed territory.

If we're still in the market for an OT, I like Frank Crum a bit. Lots to work with, and that's about all you can ask for on day three.

Still a Marshawn Kneeland fan.

Assuming that we land a top-flight WR early, I kinda like doubling down with Luke McCaffrey. He's switched schools and positions and all, but he's got a ton of raw talent...and bloodlines are real.

Crum is athletic and has some physical gifts. He's the kind of guy Day 3 was made for. LOL

(FWIW, I am always a little leery on offensive linemen over 6-6.5 or so. To stay low at that height you've got to have both amazing athleticism and enough strength to move the other guy while your legs are bent. Guys like Jonathan Ogden or Jordan Mailata — or, on the other side of the ball, like Calais Campbell — are the exception, not the rule.)

Some guys I like who I believe are likely to be Day 3 picks:
  • Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, s, Texas Tech — undersized but isn't afraid to hit, wraps up tackles, and plays the ball pretty well.
  • Eric Watts, de, Connecticut — on a par frame-wise as Myles Cole and significantly better production. A linear athlete who needs more strength to contribute.
  • Jacob Monk, c/g, Duke — Five year starter with starts at T, G, and C. Tough as nails, smart, and strong.
  • Josiah Ezirim, t, E Kentucky — convert from DT before the 2022 season. Green as grass but athletic and has evident power.

That's exactly my concern with Crum. Too often his feet get really loose and he either oversteps and lets defenders into his body or ends up leaning and lunging. Guys like him get away with that sort of thing for a while, maybe through college. Whether it's deeply ingrained in him...well, that's why he's a day three guy. Heck, Spencer Brown only put it together in his third season.

Even Poles doesn't trade 1.9 I think we should be confident he'll use some of the 2025 capital to get back in the top 100 this year. The 2025 Panthers second rounder is still looking like it could be ~35 based on that sad team so it shouldn't cost too much more to flip it to a 2024 2nd rounder. Then you have 9, 50ish, and 75 to fill your needs and the 4th rounders can be BPA to catch fallers

Love Cole Bishop - not sure why he is down as far as he is on Draft Boards. I love DBs who come out of the Utah system - extremely fundamentally sound. Great size (6-2/208) with recovery speed (4.45) for a 9.88 RAS. Why this guy isn't considered a Top 3 FS in this draft, I don't know. 4th Round?

Some others:

My Guy: Braden Fiske | DT | Florida State[/b]
A little aged (24) but you'll find that a lot in the next few years because of NIL and COVID. Great length, highly athletic (9.89 RAS), productive, played his best against Senior Bowl competition. 2nd Round probably, so doesn't qualify for Day 3 Fav.

Theo Johnson | TE | Penn State
Going to play a lot of 2 TE sets in Waldron's system, so need another body that put his hand in the dirt inline. Great size/speed ratio that generates a 9.93 RAS. Should be there in the 4th/5th.

Beaux Limmer | C | Arkansas
Maason Smith | DT | LSU
Brandon Dorlus | DL | Oregon

The fear I have with Theo Johnson is something all us keyboard scouts can't measure....his love and dedication to football. Guys with his size and atheleticism should be dominating CFB, but Johnson didn't do squat at Penn ST. Most of the scouting reports I have read said his blocking effort is lacking, which again points to does he love the game and is willing to work to be good. Something just seems off between his testing and his production.

I'm going Sweat here. The DUI should cost him 2nd Round (and he might have been Day 3 regardless)

A tradition as old as time: A potential high draft pick does something incredibly stupid, and fans of every team start salivating at him dropping to them later in the draft.

Guilty as charged (me and Sweat)

There is Character and then there is Football Character - Sadly they are nowhere near as linked as people would like

-NT MCKINNLEY JACKSON: Really fizzled out for his senior year, but if the kid was going through stuff it can be forgiven. Rough childhood. But has the ability to play if he sets his mind to it
-WR Jerrod “Bub” Means: Ideal size, just a lazy route runner. Played some LB and has return and ST experience. Set up cones after practice and make the kid learn to cut and you might have something in a few years.
-RB Dylan Laube: One of my fave late round guys because people are gonna ask why he lasted so long in the draft. Comp: Danny Woodhead. (probably not an every down starter, but will make plays)
-Edge Myles Cole: Played DT until senior year of college. I think he has room to grow at the position with a couple of developmental years. Ideal size and outstanding character makes this lottery pick worth taking
I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!

He's another small-ish receiver but I like his ability to separate and he has good contact balance for RAC

If Poles and Flus decide to pass on a DE early but will look at guys who spec more as pure edge rushers who may be more compromised in stopping the run due to size a guy I really like is Mo Kamara. The kid played here at CSU. He's an absolute terror coming off the edge. More of a power guy like Verse and smaller at 6'1"/250lbs but he's a real baller who plays like a Tasmanian Devil.

He's probably not a kid with the kind of measurable Poles and Flus like but he was productive as all hell here. He's the kind of guy Pitt drafts and plays at OLB where he has a good pro career.
