I will miss watching him play. He was a very exciting player to watch. He did inherit a shitty situation which did not get better until last year. He was also a likeable guy and somebody very easy to root for.

Nothing would make me happier than for him to have a great career.

It’s time to put that aside and move ahead. Fields had many chances to prove he was exceptional here, and he never did it as a quarterback. I hope he’s great in Pittsburgh and wish him well. I really liked Fields and if he would’ve stayed, I would’ve rooted for him and rallied behind him. But he’s gone. Williams is it. I want to win. If it’s with him or anyone else. Win already.

That's an understatement. It's not even a pick in this year's draft. I'm genuinely shocked out how little Poles has managed to get for him.

Yup, a shitty 6th round pick in 2025. Essentially a pack of stale roasted peanuts and half an Old Style. A warm one at that. I'll say this much though trading him to Pitt did JF a solid. Wilson is on a one year deal and he's more in a descent than an ascent. It opens the door for JF to get a fresh start and a new deal with a team where he has a shot at becoming a starter.

But when you talk about craziness in the last 24 hours I watched several YouTube sites including Adam Mason who believed that Poles had already structured a deal to trade the pick to Wash. It was like one reported it then several more popped up. And the logic behind it was very sound. One even proposed a second trade with Minny for the 2nd pick with the two 1st round picks they have and 2025 pick and again that made some sense. Minny is definitely maneuvering to draft a QB. Then this?????

Earlier today I'd posted that if CW has blown Poles away he should draft him. I guess he did but what about CW's medicals and an interview we've all been told is so important? And what about going into a draft with some very good talent through at least round three with only 3 picks in those rounds? He can't get multiple picks for #9. Chalk it all up to Poles once again doing what's least expected? I gotta admit that this deal looks more like a Ryan Pace move right now than a Ryan Poles move.

Guess we'll hear more from him on it soon enough.

I think the market spoke. Poles was probably asking high, and when he realized it wasn’t happening, he got what he got.
