He was 21 in college.HurricaneBear wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 8:48 am Whats Allen's number gonna be? Maybe he's still waiting to run things by Caleb first.
Caleb wore 18 in high school.
I sincerely hope this doesn't become a 'thing' where both Allen and Williams want #13 and draw hard lines in the sand.

Id be beyond shocked if that happened. Allen doesnt go to that pro day if there would be issues.G08 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 9:14 amHe was 21 in college.HurricaneBear wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 8:48 am Whats Allen's number gonna be? Maybe he's still waiting to run things by Caleb first.

Williams and Allen are close, so I can't imagine it would become a thing.G08 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 9:14 amHe was 21 in college.HurricaneBear wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 8:48 am Whats Allen's number gonna be? Maybe he's still waiting to run things by Caleb first.

Oh it's true, it's damn true. This franchise has taught us to fear the inevitable failure of our QBs. If anyone could screw up Caleb it's us.
But it's different this time. He's got a different swag. He's got that swag TMP has always dreamed of. He's gonna drag this franchise kicking and screaming into one that actually knows what a 4000 yard 30 td passer looks like on a consistent basis.
We've never drafted a QB at 1.1 right? I grew up thru the same bullshit period. I know exactly how you feel. We gotta buy in this time it's what we waited for. If they fuck up Caleb, then we riot.

Of course one problem is we've retired so many numbers, we are getting low, then you have to factor in the "non-retired" numbers they keep out of circulations for a bit (like 54). I think we are tied with the Giants for most retired numbers at 14.

Nobody better ever ever ever say "He's got moxie!" On the old board that was the rage for Grossman (maybe McClown) and that didn't work out well regardless of which one it was in reference too.HurricaneBear wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 9:22 am Oh it's true, it's damn true. What makes this different, IMO, is that Poles has actually built a roster ready to support a rookie QB and his development vs throwing them into a shit situation and asking them to carry the team Tom Brady style before they've even developed into an NFL player. And a professional coaching staff with actual NFL experience at their jobs. This current roster is EASILY, BY MILES better than what any of our last 5 drafted QB's had. Caleb is the most talented QB we will have drafted and is coming into by far the best situation - add those up and I see success coming.Arkansasbear wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 9:24 amNobody better ever ever ever say "He's got moxie!" I’m hoping he does better than 34, that’s 2 per game.thunderspirit wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 4:01 pmI'd rather he double his career receptions for stats next season...The Cooler King wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 1:28 pm Tyler Scott is gonna double his career earnings auctioning off 13 lol

Not Bears-related, but Marcus Mariota is now officially a big fat zero.

Jim Otto in his Raider days wore Double Zero and played Center ... now that's bad ass.
I can see Caleb offering to Keenan and Keenan declining the offer graciously. Probably good for an extra target a game.

Had to check as I wasn't sure, but players still can't wear 00., That's a shame IMO.

I vaguely remember a TE with the Houston Oilers wearing 00? Before my time I think but I can kinda see it in my head for some reason.

I guess he lost the game of beer pong.
In all seriousness, I hope he didn't just give it up, or was forced to, without compensation. He's a 4th round pick stuck behind two WR1s on the roster. He's not earning big money and his chances to do so are limited.

Maybe if Keenan Allen gets it, Caleb can talk about how much adversity he had to go through losing his collegiate number.
