One has to wonder at some point if the NFL itself will need to become more involved in helping to finance stadium construction.

I think the NFL has pledged some money to the project.

in a perfect world, the Bears organization would stand up and say :

"Our goal is to reward the fans for their years of loyalty during the decades the Bears were an absolutely terrible football team. During those down years (or which there were many), the fans still gave us their hard earned cash to watch an inferior product week after week, year after year. So it is time to pay them back for their loyalty and we will do so by funding our new facility ourselves to build something we can all be proud of and the fans will flock to and enjoy."

unfortunately, it is not a perfect world so there is no doubt in my mind this issue will be a clusterfuck with no end in site and the Bears will fuel the clusterfuck with unreasonable demands for money, land and infrastructure while lounging on their fat inbred asses counting their profits

so fuck you George ... you're turning out to be no better than your braindead brother Mikey

Glad to see the city survived 10-odd tornadoes. Any reports of Arlington Heights getting devastated, thus opening up more parking lot flexibility for the Bears site?

Warren met with Gov. Pritzker for a meet and greet breakfast. No reported change in the state's stance on no public funding.

I don't expect that to change any time soon. It's an election year.
