I really want this to be a turn around game for the Bears, but sadly I don't see it happening. Our OL is banged up, our DL is hobbled. I'm guessing Moore is playing hurt. But mostly I think the fallout from the loss in Washington DC caused irreparable harm. The news media and NFL analysts have been excoriating Eberflus on his defensive strategy and failures in the last few minutes of the Commanders game. And this isn't the first time that a lot of these players have seen Eberflus blow a game late in the clock. I think there is a residual effect , maybe a hangover, that occurs. If the Bears get down by more than a TD early, the wheels come off.
Cardinals - 24
Bears - 16
If we lose by more than two scores, it's the beginning of the end for Matt Eberflus.

I'd like to see an injury report before making a prediction, but it's already Wednesday so time to go.
It's worrying that Brisker still hasn't cleared the concussion protocol after 3 weeks.
Brisker still out with the concussion is concerning as well as Gordon not practicing. Glad to see it was not Jenkin's back that was hurt, and the knee was good enough to at least walk through practice. As far as the OT situation, it's probably good that they're facing a 3-4 defense and they're outside rushers are not dangerous. Their OLB's Luketa and Collins have one sack combined, while one DT Stills has three. We'll also see our old friend Khyris Tonga in the rotation at NT. As a team the Cards have 15 total sacks, while the Bears are at 20 (tied for the league lead with SF). They probably get their sacks from blitzing so having a bunch of new OL faces on the field could be trouble.
San Francisco has always been my favorite booing city. I don't mean the people boo louder or longer, but there is a very special intimacy. Music, that's what it is to me. One time in Kezar Stadium they gave me a standing boo.

Apparently Sweat's shin injury is a gash caused by "a spike on the back of a Commanders player’s cleat" according to Mark Potash. I don't know what he means by that. Getting gashed by a cleat yes, but a "spike" on the back of a cleat? Anyway it's relatively minor, it didn't need stitches just a bandage and he's expected to play against the Cardinals.
Bates has entered the 3 week window to be activated from IR.

I’m starting to contemplate whether we start to tank now looking at our remaining fixtures and the health of the team physically and mentally.
The Bears OL sucks on the road and now we have more backups playing. Zona has been playing better having won 3 of 4. But our defense will give them problems. I'm predicting a low scoring game here. Bears MVP this week... Tory Taylor. Again.
Cardinals 16
Bears 13
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

We shouldn’t leave it too late
Tanking is better for a team mentally?
Better to lose because you’re tanking than lose because you suck

Yep.
I think this is his 3rd as a pro? And didn't the last one also take a while to clear?
It's very possible his career could have any early end, now, or a couple years down the line.

Teven DNP, in spite of his estimated "Ltd" status for yesterday.
Kiran, Braxton also still out
Bates not ready yet.
I think the defence, for whatever reason, puts the team on its back and guts out a result, keeping the Cards to 13.
The offence behind this makeshift line commits to the run and after a slow start wears them down enough for Swift to break off some good runs. Eventually we earn a bit of respect and Caleb makes some nice play action passes in the 4th.
Cards 13 - Bears 20.
"I wouldn't take him for a conditional 7th. His next contract will pay him more than he could possibly contribute.".
Flus said Braxton is out this week, Larry Borom will be the starting LT. Brisker is also out again, but it sounded like Montez, Tev, and Spiderman will be suiting up. Also sounded like Bates might be activated, sounded like he was out there running teams drills today.
Edit....Flus would not say if Tyrique would be starting or not, was non-committal on the subject.
