The injury situation is complicating things for me, but I think the Bears are going to be highly motivated to win this, and I think they are out to shut people up about last week. I think they are going to do that.

I may not be quite as negative as others yet my team has a HC with an 0-17 record on road games played on Sundays so I'm not gonna bet on the Bears to win without some huge odds in my favor. Like maybe 100:1. This is game eight. The mid season nexus that will be an indicator of what's to come. I think that another loss here just might be all it takes to let the air out of the rest of this season as far as any hope of appearing competitive again.
We'll be heading into the toughest stretch now and the teams we have to play are gonna smell blood in the water if there is any. Our injuries are also increasing as they often do right before teams begin a multi game slide. Of course Flus will try to cast even a loss in a positive light but we all know there's a huge difference between 5-3 and 4-4 losing two games in a row to teams we should've beaten. The Bears with CW can win this game the question is will they?

Any talk of tanking is bunk to me. I don't think it's ever good for the mind/emotion of the team, and your definitly not building a winning culture that way. The only situations where it is warrented is your team has been stripped down of vets and is rebuilding (we already are past this) or you've taken so many major injuries for the season that the team both cannot hope to make a wildcard and some of those injuries need high picks to replace.
I think we could win this one, but I am suspecting we miss it barely because of injuries on both sides, combined with consistent wack play calling in critical moments tipping the scales unfortunately.

If the Bears lose this game by more than 10 points, the whole thing unravels very quickly.

I've got to go with a Bears win. I drove down to Florida last week to check on any hurricane damage at our place on the gulf coast. Fortunately there was very little. I am flying back to Chicago on the 9th to go to the next 3 home games. I'm hoping the games will be exciting and meaningful. I have got to see the Bears beat the Packers. I'll say 23-20.

The Bears officially activated Larry Borom off injured reserve today.
The Bears also promoted cornerback Reddy Steward from the practice squad. I wonder if that's related to Gordon being questionable to play or fallout from Stevenson's antics.
They've also promoted Jake Curhan to the active roster. He has 29 career starts at OT, 6 more than Borom. Presumably he'll be the swing tackle should Borom or Wright get hurt.
Ryan Bates has was ruled out, so his activation from IR won't be for at least another week.
It will be interesting to see if Nate Davis suits up. Flus was confident Jenkins would play although officially he's questionable, but with all these injuries to the O-line they're a bit short on bodies. If Jenkins can't last the game then is Kramer a better option than Davis? There are also still rumours about the possibility of Davis getting traded. If there's any chance of that happening then they're not likely to play him under any circumstances. If a trade doesn't materialise then he could be back in uniform next week after the trade deadline on Tuesday.

I'm not at all confident with the state of the O-line but it's now or never for this team. If they don't respond positively to last weeks heartbreaker and pull out a win then this season will be left hanging by a thread.

I’d go: Pryor, Tev, Shelton, Davis, Wright. It’s our best 5 healthy and 4/5 play their natural position so less shuffling.HisRoyalSweetness wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 6:39 pm The Bears officially activated Larry Borom off injured reserve today.

We had an early London game, then a bye, then I was away last weekend - this is my first proper game day in a month. I’m stoked, see you all on the chat later

GAME DAY BITCHES!!!!
Ugh! It's been a rough two weeks. We had to sit through a bye week, only to come out flat and lose a heartbreaker to the Commanders. The locker room appears to be in turmoil, and our mediocre OL is REALLY banged up. The saving grace is that the Cardinals defense is not great. The Bears are 4-3, and face two very beatable teams before they have to run the gauntlet of the NFCN. The Bears have to win the winnable games if they are going to take the next step as a competent NFL football team. To me the jury is still out on whether or not Eberflus is dead man walking. I think if he loses to the Cardinals, everything starts to unravel quickly, and the Bears start considering current NFL OC's for the next head coach of Chicago (Ben Johnson, please get your resume updated). Make no mistake, Eberflus is coaching for his job in every game from here until the end of the season. I predicted the Bears to lose today. I'll stand by that. But it wouldn't surprise me at all if they rally and put together a big team win.

There are trends, and then there is the Bears not winning a road Sunday game in like 3 years.
AZ has some weapons in Murray, McBride and Connor. McBride is my starter on both of my fantasy teams (you’re happy for me, I know).
Stevenson is likely to be sitting in a corner with a Dunce hat on this afternoon instead of starting.
Sweat is ouchy and Edwards is a very good LB but lacks the elite foot speed and this is one of the times he’ll be exposed.
It’s an inflection point for the season.
I don’t like all of the stuff up there.
But I think there is more character and resilience in this Bears team than we’ve seen in a long time. And this is not your typical road game, as we know there are tons of Chicago transplants in AZ. These guys are pissed, and will want to show something after their national embarrassment.
Give me our Bears to somehow persevere, breaking the trend line and turning it around again. I like them to bounce back in similar fashion to how they did after Indianapolis. Even with a makeshift OL, they’re going to find a way. This isn’t Washington they’re playing. I like the defense to come away with 2 or more turnovers this week.

Sweat's a shocker. They did a good job of selling that his injury was minor, not even needing stiches.
Gordon's absence is disappointing. People keep harping on about Jenkins always getting hurt, but Gordon, Brisker and Braxton Jones keep missing a lot of time too.

Decent start to first drive, but Borom penalty kills it. Second drive ruined by bad Rome drop folllowed by a bad Caleb pass intended for Allen.
Defense plays well for first two series, puts up less than no resistance in meekly surrendering a TD - doesn’t look good
