Be careful what you ask for, but I would be on board, BIG TIME, for Bezos to buy the team. It would hopefully be music to my ears to have the McCaskeys -> GONE!!
Just an idea here, but Bezos should then also buy the Bulls and he can build a basketball stadium on the AH site. Bulls and Bears sports mecca (with shopping, hotels, bars, restaurants, and a Chicago sports museum) would really be something.

Why stop there? Have him buy the Blackhawks too. All three teams in AH in the worlds first sport venue with three teams
Who ever thought the Bears HC search would have to wait until the Lions completed their post season run?
What alternate universe is this?
Did I fall down the wrong trouser leg of time?
Hell, have him buy all the Chicago franchises. They have all kind of sucked the past 3-5 yrs +. Craig Counsell, longest tenured active coach in Chicago I believe. Sad, so sad. Bad coaching, bad roster, poor ownership. Alex, What are Chicago franchises.
I hate the idea personally, if you know what a meddlesome dumbass bezos is with the washington post, this would probably be very similar. He'd just be another David Tepper "i'm rich therefore i'm a genius" schmuck.

And people complain about the traffic now!
Maybe some additional rapid transit infrastructure would help that.
There is a GM named Poles
Who has a clear set of goals
He’s rebuilt his team
So Bears’ fans can dream
Of winning some more Super Bowls
I BELIEVE a betting line had Bezos as the "favorite" to buy the Bears in the (unlikely) event they're put up for sale? Some believe the McCaskey family will want to sell when Virginia passes, but, supposedly, there is a succession plan in place that will ensure the Bears stay in the family. Also, there are members of the board that will, I believe, given first crack if and when the team is up for sale.
Musk and Ellison are true a*holes. Ballmer is a good guy and won't stint with the $ as needed but he owns the NBA Clippers out in California. Hard to believe Warren Buffet's son would be in the running but who really knows.

Hate to tell you this - It's gonna be a Rich Guy
That poor Irish Potato farmer under the boot of the British - somehow just didn't have the couple of billion to put up......I'm as shocked as you!

I'm more shocked that there's a poor Irish Potato farmer who's centuries old.
Oh joy. Can't wait to get an email on Sunday mornings telling me my "Victory" has been shipped.
Rumor has it that rumors will always catch someone's attention and increase circulation or hits. If it hasn't become obvious yet that we all live in a world of "Make Shit Up" so we can hide the truth well them becoming more "woke" is probably a good thing don't cha' think?

F* it, buy one of the baseball teams also, most likely the Sox, and build that mega sports complex in AH for all 4 teams.
The team is valued at $6.4 billion in 2024. Would $8 billion swing the needle? Maybe a bit more? How much would the value of the team increase with their own stadium?
It's speculated that, upon Virginia passing away, younger members of the family want to cash out. Not sure how much leverage they have to either force a sale or sell just their share of the team.
