Honestly this piece is so good, i want to post the whole thing. It's such a wonderfully American story, the failsons of a failson continuing the proud tradition of being born on third and thinking they've hit a triple.

This year, on Halloween night, the Jets registered their first victory since Saleh’s firing four weeks earlier. It was a significant moment for a struggling team. Rodgers walked into an energized locker room with a game ball in hand, and it was expected that he’d give the ball to Ulbrich, a customary gesture when a coach gets his first NFL win.

But before Rodgers could speak, Brick Johnson took another game ball and awarded it to wide receiver Garrett Wilson in a profanity-laced exclamation, which the owner’s son later posted to Instagram. Woody Johnson then gave Ulbrich the ball Rodgers had been holding. Multiple players said the energy felt drained out of the room.

“It was the most awkward, cringe-worthy, brutal experience,” one player said.

Does George have any teenage sons? Feels eerily similar to the shitshow we are witnessing.

I won't delve too deeply, because, inevitably, by definition and necessity, any extended conversations about wealth and power start becoming political, but I will throw out a thought:

When you ask people if they generally believe in meritocracy - the idea that people should be born to a reasonably level playing field, have significant room for upward or downward mobility, and they prosper or wither based upon their own capabilities, you will generally get a favorable majority.

But then when it comes to specific policies that promote or discourage meritocracy and class mobility...it somehow doesn't happen.

Allowing the transfer of massive amounts of wealth from generation to generation being one glaring example.

If you think the Bears are even a fraction of the dysfunctional operation the Jets are….

Take away 2018 and they have more wins than we do over the last 10 years.

Supposedly Vrabel us their HC target. They need a GM also. I doubt Erin is back, they might be looking at drafting a QB although they're picking in a nonoptimal spot for one.

I don't think A-A-Ron plays another snap after this year. No one is paying him starter money and he's not going somewhere as a backup. Hopefully we don't hear anything about him until he is elected into the HOF, then never hear anything about him ever again.

well, I was hoping the Bears would not be a disaster, but my hope involved the Bears actually becoming better not another team simply being more dysfunctional and bumping them from the headlines

Mannnn, Aaron has completely lost the script:

https://awfulannouncing.com/espn/aaron- ... tatus.html

“Say whatever the f*** you want about me, I don’t care,” Rodgers began. “But just before you do it, whether you state your name, your accolades, pronouns, whatever it is, just state your vax status so that anything you say afterwards gets put in the right light. Just get it out there. Cause then when you say things about me, people can at least be like, ‘Oh, you are captured by the multimillion-dollar propaganda Skyhawk and you’re still upset about it.’ Just put that out there just so everybody knows where you’re coming from. Everybody knows, ‘Okay, cool, you’re twice vaxxed Moderna with three booster shots’ and then say what you want to say, whatever.

“I don’t care. I’m just saying a PSA, just please help everybody out who’s wondering, ‘Where is this coming from?’ Including myself, where the f*** is this coming from? But just give a little PSA. Do a little bit of digging and then you know where it’s all coming from. Right? You’re captured, you’re highly vaccinated and then say whatever the hell you want to say about me cause I couldn’t give two s***s about it.”

Aaron needs you to know that he couldnt give two shits about it! Not entirely sure what it is.

Personally, I can't spare any schadenfreude for the Jets (no matter my personal feelings about their owner) while sitting in this glass house.

I was laughing my ass off at the visual of Rodgers trotting off the field, head held high and seemingly unashamed, after the Bills destruction. I know age plays a huge part here, but I don't recall ever seeing a player fall this hard this fast, and I'm loving it.

Deshaun Watson says hello.....and committed a sex crime on his way out the door

Edited: Didn't want it to say a person's family member - not the intention - just noting that Watson is a sexual predator in general

Meh. I think his decline has been overstated.
Guy could still hit 4,000 yards and 25TDs this year with a good game next week. He missed the entirety of last season.

Calling it now. Comeback player of the year in 25. Remember how bad Favre was with the Jets? Bounced back quite well for a year with the Vikes.

Eh.

His passer rating and QBR are just a touch better than Caleb's.
Caleb's a rookie and can be expected to improve, Aaron's a wildly overpaid 41yo prima donna who can be expected to get weirder and less worth the headache.
