Watching this game and it’s making me think our secondary is overrated. Rams DBs are aggressive and can tackle

Vikings looked at the Packers yesterday and said, "hold my beer."

Sam Darnold is playing like a slow Justin Fields. The guy's lost a million dollars every time he's dropped back.

So much road and so few places, so much friendliness and so little intimacy, so much flavour and so little taste.

Friendship is better than fighting, but fighting is more useful.

Lmao - NFC North looking pretty weak. Detroit better win next week or it's going to look real bad for the "toughest division in football."

All the discourse about "should the vikes trade JJ McCarthy?" feeling pretty funny right now.

Late Xmas gifts. First the Pack, now the team I detest the most in the league, the Vikes.

KOC called a weird fucking game. so much long developing stuff, and stayed with the run late down 3 scores. just an absolute head scratcher.

He was always the same Darnold, he just had a coach who was scheming well for him and teammates playing well. In the playoffs, you need more than that.

It really was a weird gameplan. Like did every play need to be a deep shot or have a bunch of weird route concepts?

I definitely noticed they were still running the ball with like 7 minutes left and down 3 scores - very weird strategy. Thinking earlier in the game - were they not able to adjust to a quicker passing game to adjust to all the pressure coming on Darnold? I saw some screens and stuff that were largely ineffective, but I was shocked they couldn't figure something out.

On the other side, Chris Shula called a really good defensive game. He was bringing all sorts of creative pressure packages. Pretty impressive stuff.

One thing I saw from the Rams last night that stuck with me....when Minnesota ran quick WR screens, their DB's attacked the play aggressively. They even....wait for it....made a play even though there was a blocker there by diving under the block and making a low tackle in space. Our guys seemed to sit back and let the blocker engage, I assume that counted as them "doing their job" to occupy the blocker so someone else could make the tackle? It resulted in 8 yard gains pretty routinely, particularly after the ball carrier ran over our tackler and fell forward for a couple extra yards.

Our defense under Flus/Washington was just too goddamn passive. All that said, I still don't want Flores even though he's the epitome of attacking defense.

They certainly seemed to feel the Rams were vulnerable deep.

Which, okay, but a) you've got to have time to get there and b) your QB needs to be on target but also c) your guys need to catch it when he is.

Looked like O'Connell bought an old Waldron playbook off ebay and thought he would give it a try.
Bears are actually dating the Prom Queen, who would have thought it?
What alternate universe is this?
Did I fall down the wrong trouser leg of time?

I noticed that exact same thing. It looked like the Vikings had simply given up by this point. There was no sense of urgency and any sign they still believed there was a chance was completely missing. They just seemed to went to get the game over and get out of there. It was very strange for a playoff game. The Rams just whipped them mentally and emotionally as well as on the scoreboard. They just laid down and died.
