Who would you take and where?
Just for conversation purposes... I would not be surprised to see a QB taken. this could be a great year to grab one to develop for the future. We all know Emery likes to cover all his bases.
I'll start..
Tyler Bray. I think Tyler is a QB who after a year or two working with a NFL level QB coach could learn what it takes to be a long term QB in the NFL. At least a more than solid back-up. He has a TON of arm strength and can make a ton of throws. His issue is accuracy and footwork. Both can be fixed with coaching.
Would you take a QB this year??

No I would not take one. 1) we have much larger needs, and only five picks (right now), 2) This is not a deep class for QB's, so you are not getting a lot of value for your pick, 3) There will be back-ups available after camp ends.
This is not the year to take a flyer on a QB.

I disagree. I see a lot of talent in the top 10 QB's. I dont think we are drafting Jays replacement. So why not develop one under a good coach in case something happens to Jay or he leaves next year for whatever reason. If we wait for a year in witch there are studs at the top like Luke and RG3/ Willson. We will probably have to give up picks to move up and grab them. I would rather grab someone who offers good value for where you are picking.

Not the lists I'm looking at. When E.J. Manuel is one of your Top 10 prospects, and the profile on him is; long release and no pocket awareness. Telegraph's his passes. There is a problem. It's not an athletic class. There are a lot of BIG QB's coming out this year, but 6'4" and 230 lbs does not automatically make an NFL QB. One of the top college QB's in the last few years was Landry Jones (although he had a so-so year last year), he's on the board, and he won't make it as an NFL QB, mark my words.

Phil's had a year to indoctrinate his scouts and I have to believe they're on the lookout for a Brady-type who's under everyone's radar.
He also said he would take one every year if that were possible, and the "average" description he used might be just a non-commital "smoky" remark.
