That's fine. Burris was a CFL stud and Timu wasn't too shabby. Both guys simply weren't NFL caliber as players, but I'm all for them being employed as coaches.

Just don't let Henry have ANYTHING to do with our QBs.

I really like Timu and think guys can learn from him just about how to put in the work to make the team.

Well I mean what the hell positions do you expect him to be coaching?

I mean our head coach didn't have the success as an Arena Leaguer that Burris did in the CFL, and I think he's done a pretty good job overall.

I think Arkansasbear may have just been recalling his abysmal performance with the Bears, @UOK .

I did some digging though and it doesn't look like he will be assuming any kind of real coaching position. Based on the below article, he was brought in as part of the Bill Wash coaching fellowship which is:
The Bill Walsh diversity coaching fellowship was formed in 1987. The objective of the program is to allow participants to spend time with NFL clubs during training camp, off-season workouts and mini-camps in order to gain experience and "ultimately gain a full-time NFL coaching position.

So I guess he won't even be around come game-time.

UOK Hammering Hank Burris was BRUTAL when he was with us. Simply don’t see anything redeeming in that guy. He has to be one of the worst players to ever take a snap as a Bears QB - AND THAT’S SAYING A LOT !!!

Yet the correlation between performance and teaching just isn't that strong. "those who can't do teach" has some truth to it.

To me, it speaks volumes of people's willful stupidity if they want Coach Henry Burris to be no fewer than 800 miles from wherever the Chicago Bears are, all because he was dogshit in a Bears uniform. Like he's got a cloud of failure around him or something. He's just a human being who had a wild football career that ended with him being a pretty excellent success (by all-around professional football standards, not NFL standards obviously), and now he's getting a brief turn with the Bears that in no way revolves around him suiting up, and yet here comes the Outrage Train.

Be better than that, please.

That was my exact thought as well

His talents didn't translate to the NFL. As a watcher of the CFL, the man kicked some serious ass in that league. He was actually fun to watch. Initially I tuned in to see him crash, like he did in the NFL, but that didn't happen up north. Good for him wanting to get into the NFL and coach. I would think a lot of CFL teams would have them on their staff now.

This is just a terrible take, especially considering Timu was pretty awful too. BUT HE TRIED MORE HARDER

Yea, agree Wab. Both guys are basically the equivalent of Graduate Assistants in the college game. Ex players who are often very low or even unpaid and just looking for a foot in the door to the coaching world. They do a lot of the busy work for the position coaches in exchange for getting some experience and hopefully a referral as a stepping stone.

Nothing to see here, I wish them both well.

It is said that the frustrated player makes for the excellent coach. Good luck to them both.

Sorry it didn’t translate well. Was just saying he was one of the worst QBs we’ve ever had and the comment was basically tongue in cheek.
