I like how the first month of the season has gone, and that has continued now into May ... seeing a lot of things to like
I know it is early, but this could end up being a very happy season for Sox fans

I grew up watching and loving both the Cubs and Sox, and actually really got hooked on the Sox as a daily fan when Harry was calling games for them. Watched them every night on channel 44 in north central Il. Loved that old '77 team with Lemon, Zisk, Soderholm, Gamble, Bannister and the gang. Great team! Then when I lived up by Cubs Park I sort of settled into going to their games (lol when bleacher seats were sold for $4 on game day) and being more of a Cubs fan while I was living in the city.
I haven't watched baseball much for 20 years since I've lived in Michigan, and really started watching the Tigers more because they were always on here and had a good run for a while 10 years ago.
But now the MLB Network has me back in the Chicago baseball game! I'm watching both the Cubs and Sox now. Getting to know the Sox players again for the first time in probably 10 years.
Chicago Series!

Have you guys seen the new Southside jerseys?
Holy shit these are gorgeous. I don't actively watch baseball, but I could go for a Frank Thomas in one of these.

those are pretty sweet ... I agree with the article note though that perhaps the script should have been South Side or SouthSide with both capital S's instead of SouthsideThe Marshall Plan wrote: ↑Sun May 30, 2021 4:03 am Have you guys seen the new Southside jerseys?

anybody else remember the South Side Hitmen? that was back in the late 70's (1977 to be exact) when Bill Veeck did his rent a player routine, signing guys to 1 year deals, and ended up assembling a very entertaining team that hit the ball all over the place ... alas, pitching eventually led to their downfall

I for one am surprised how the Sox pitching staff has really come together ... nice starting rotation and a relief staff that knows their roles
I knew they could hit and that would keep them in contention ... but it is the pitching that will carry them to the next level ... and it has been fun to watch

I'm pleased the Sox are buyers during this trade deadline period and they did get some nice additions for their post season run
White Sox Acquire Craig Kimbrel For Nick Madrigal, Codi Heuer
Chicago White Sox acquire 2B Cesar Hernandez from Cleveland Indians, reliever Ryan Tepera from Cubs
acquiring those 3 alone was a big boost for the roster
they were allegedly trying for Kris Bryant as well, but that didn't pan out

hope I don't jinx them but I am having happy post season thoughts about this team ... very balanced, solid pitching, timely hitting ... very fun to watch

When the Cubs cleaned house at the trade deadline I got pissed, and officially switched to the Sox for the rest of the season. Looks to be a solid post season run ahead.

this is such a well balanced White Sox team and I am glad Tony "unwritten rules" LaRussa hasn't been able to screw them up
I think they have the real chance to duplicate 2005

well that sucked ... in the battle of the Lance's, I thought Lance Lynn would prevail
need today to go much better ... off to a good start so we shall see

down 0-2 as they head to Chicago ... not looking good, and the Sox are not looking comfortable against Houston ... need something dramatic and drastic to turn it around

still alive ... that was a wild and weird game 3 ... need to duplicate that today ... once they tie the series, anything can happen right?

I was less than pleased when LaRussa was hired ... and his bullshit unwritten rules nonsense during the season made me truly despise him

He's a drunken hack whose best years have a passed him by.
I'm a die hard Cubs fan as you know so I've hated La Russa for a while, and for me to say you're better off without him speaks volumes.
