Every Bears fans wants JF to become a mega star and lead the Bears to a Super Bowl. Success has its price, though:

Teams with great QBs are increasingly, this offseason, being hamstrung by the prices they're paying for their guys and having to shed key pieces. That's why it's said that a team with a QB still on a rookie contract has the greatest cap flexibility to add the pieces needed to compete. The Bears probably aren't competing in '22 so they'll have another 3 years of JF at a rookie price to get that team assembled (which is what Poles has been doing this offseason). Brady gave NE hometown discounts for so many years, taking below market contracts but few if no other QBs will be so inclined.

All the more reason Pace & Nagy shouldn't have been given 2021 to burn as a pathetic "go for it" season.
