Add it all up, and it amounts to a space where the NFL would be working both for and against its own interests. But the question comes down to what would ultimately reek more for the league: flagrant tampering between an NFL owner and the most iconic player in history, or the lack of any serious investigation into either of them.

Here's the thing about tampering....

It's like the seatbelt or speeding laws.

People break those laws all the time. Not me with the seatbelt though. I always wear mine. Seriously.

But to make it look like the authorities care they make these laws that give good optics, but are then virtually impossible to enforce.

Tampering is the same way. These guys all know each other. They all go to the same parties. Or at a minimum you could play Six Degrees Of Tom Brady and connect everybody in the NFL.

Therefore, I could care less about tampering.
