Is it bad that I keep trading out of the first round. I just keep trading down and and up with five seconds and five thirds, etc. I think I had 18 picks in the first 150. Plus three or four for next year.

Love the first three picks. I was mildly intrigued by Brandon Joseph, but haven't watched any clips of the other listed picks.

I like Pappoe, he seems good value.

Didn't know PFN was throwing established players into trades, this one caught my interest:

Bears: trade 1-9 and 2-53 to Carolina for 2-39, Brian Burns DE, Derrick Brown DT (a run stuffer). A couple of additional trades also:

39: Darnell Wright, OT, Tennessee
61: Joe Tippman, C, Wisconsin
96: Zach Pickens, DT, South Carolina
103: Zach Harrison, DE, OSU
119: Tyjae Spears, RB, Tulane
133: Luke Schoonmaker, TE, Michigan
136: Chandler Zavaia, G, NC State (may be the best pure guard in the draft)
148: Andrei Iosivas, WR, Princeton (projected as a Z, don't know if they need him with Claypool)
158: Cory Trice, Jr., CB, Purdue
160: Mark Morris, Edge, Michigan
168:Garrett Williams, CB, Syracuse

Yeah I like the PFN upgrade, think it’s been like this for a week or so.

We absolutely need a serviceable S for 2023. There is no telling when EJax is coming back, how long it will take him to recover, if he ever recovers fully at all. I would like to see a S taken in round 3.

Don't sleep on Michael Ojemudia. I loved that they picked him up off waivers last year.

Not nearly enough of a return even with Buckner. There would have to be their 1st next year also as a minimum. Carolina #1, Colts, #1 as well as the Bears, now you're cooking with gas.

An interesting one.
Not a big Dexter fan, but missed Benton and DT desperately needed something and I was sitting on 2 R3s.
CBs all went too fast, also.
Other positions went really well, though.

For shitsngiggles

I did a quick 4 round draft, refusing all trade offers and picking only where we currently have picks, ended up with

CHI
9.

Jalen Carter
DT Georgia
CHI
53.

Cody Mauch
OT North Dakota State
CHI
61.

Tuli Tuipulotu
EDGE USC
CHI
64.

Joe Tippmann
OC Wisconsin
CHI
103.

Zach Harrison
EDGE Ohio State
CHI
133.

Alex Austin
CB Oregon State

this out of the belief that between Jenkins, Leatherwood, and Borom, one of them will start at RT this year
2023 Preseason Downside prediction:
5-6 wins, never really healthy all season, a constant shuffling.
We're potentially in a position to draft in the Top 5 again, depending on the Carolina team, and probably have a low-teens (or better) pick ourselves.

The only guy I don't like on your mock is Mauch. I think he'll be an OK O lineman in a couple years, but he needs more lower body strength to hold up to power rushers. If forced into action I think he'll resort to holding a bit too much to avoid getting run past. Also many site project him as an OG because he doesn't have ideal length.

But the main reason I replied is the idea that maybe one of these OT's on the roster just might have taken this off season seriously and trained for what the Bears desire in an OT. Any one of those 3 could start if they worked on some strength, footwork issues, or got completely healthy respectively. Just been a nagging thought in my head as I've had my own training journey this winter. And I don't have nearly the resources these guys do to get better.

I think Mauch is going to surprise a lot of people. I think he's going to be the Cole Strange of this year's draft, and if he's available in the late 2nd, I think he's going to be a steal there.
But I also think he's going to be an OG, not a tackle, but that's how he was listed in the simulator

Now that I've decided I like Wright I basically trade down any time I can't get Tyree Wilson and there's a good enough offer that I'll pass on one of the top CBs. Usually I can amass mid-rounders and double-down on needs. I think this draft raises the overall talent level across the team significantly.

Several had Tyjae Spears as a pick in this thread. I think we would have been very happy to have him after seeing him play yesterday.

Hate to say it but the rookie made Eddie look like a fool.
