Oh, yes, I di' id

NFL mockdraftdatabase

Kinda quick and lazy.

1-7 DE Myles Murphy, Clemson 6’4 275 4.75
Mostly started as a FR, 8 sacks as SO, ACC 2nd tm
I figure Quinn will be gone, sooner or later.

2-39 C Ricky Stromberg, Arkansas 6’3 310 5.15
4 yr starter, surprised by returning for 2022
Patrick can kick over and Kramer can backup.

3-71 HB Zach Charbonnet, UCLA 6’1 220 4.45
Exploded with 1100 yds and 24 catches after leaving UM’s bench. PAC12 2nd tm
Montgomery can cash in (if it even happens) elsewhere

4-103 LB Ventrell Miller, Florida 6’0 225 4.75
Injured last yr, 3rd yr starting
5-135 LB Bumper Pool, Arkansas 6’1 230 4.75
Averaging over 100 tackles/yr for last 3yrs. Coolest name in sports, as awarded by me. SEC 2nd tm
Maybe 2 was excessive, but I’m really underwhelmed by LBs 2-6 on our chart.

7-199 3T Dante Stills, West Virginia 6’2 280 4.95
2yr starter at DE. Big12 1st tm

I feel the same way as in 2023 – these picks (5 in top 150) aren’t anywhere remotely close to enough to patch everything up.
Yeah, we’re going to have money to spend in 2023…but most teams will, so it won’t go as far. And there won’t be any “extra” FAs available.

I know you do not like it...but at some point the Bears need to draft a WR fairly early.

Yeah, in a more hardcore effort, I would probably put one there.

But I just hate trying to scout WR. Especially early on. And more so with no firm workout numbers.
I can't bring myself to go to the hassle this early.

Although, at the same time, none of the top 4 are what I would consider "luxury picks". They're all pretty necessary, if the next year pans out the way I anticipate (Quinn traded, Montgomery & Morrow inadequate as long-term pieces on a contender).

Oh, why not? The real value here to me is that it lets me totally blue-sky this year's draft.

1.7: Kayshon Boutte, WR, LSU
2.39: Will McDonald, DE, Iowa St.
3.71: Zacch Pickens, 3T, South Carolina
4.103: Edefuan Ulofoshio, LB, Washington
5.135: Sam LaPorta, TE, Iowa
6.177: Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida
7.199: Keeanu Benton, DT, Wisconsin
So much road and so few places, so much friendliness and so little intimacy, so much flavour and so little taste.

Friendship is better than fighting, but fighting is more useful.
