Recreating magic is hard.
But, unless the reviews are dreadful, I'll give it a shot.

I’m super excited and have high hopes. These guys have made a bunch of great movies in the same style not so long ago, they still know the formula. Best In Show, Waiting for Guffman, A Mighty Wind, etc.
Best In Show is one of my all time favorite movies, if you haven’t seen it I couldn’t recommend it more.

Best in Show is magnificent. It's better than Spinal Tap. You're right on the money, there.
I hadn't heard about the Tap sequel. What a weird idea. I'll have to look this up. Hopefully Guest is directing it.

Inspired lunacy. And that's exactly what I was getting at earlier. Plenty of these kinds of moments in Guffman and A Mighty Wind, too. That's why I was hoping Guest was at the helm of the new Tap...he invented this weird formula, he just invited Rob Reiner in on it.
But, Reiner's back, and that's fine. Good to have Marty DeBergi back around. I'm interested to see how it turns out. I read an article that featured Reiner in it...and the concept sounds clever. I hope that other mainstays of the Guest films like Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Parker Posey, Jane Lynch, etc., can find their way into the new Spinal Tap. Would be phenomenal.
