No real details

If you had to rank ex-players dying young from Most Surprising to Least, this would check in pretty low, though. Whether it was CTE, something else, or both, things definitely didn't seem right.

2023 Preseason Downside prediction:
5-6 wins, never really healthy all season, a constant shuffling.
We're potentially in a position to draft in the Top 5 again, depending on the Carolina team, and probably have a low-teens (or better) pick ourselves.

Merging topics.

Sad to hear. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess this may be related to CTE.

He’s had a few wellness checks on him
I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!

Sad situation. He'd fallen on pretty hard times.

I didn't know that. He was sort of a beast mode type, and I was excited when he came to the Bears. It is a shame that he's known and remembered so much by Bear fans for that disastrous brain fart in Denver.

It was heat stroke.

Interesting, although still some questions.

Was he wandering around aimlessly outside (beforehand)?
Was he too destitute for air conditioning?

officers were called to the scene when a neighbor reported water leaking from Barber's apartment.

Per the medical report, officers arrived to Barber's apartment to find a bathtub faucet running and the thermostat set to 91 degrees. Police also found workout equipment in the apartment.

"Mr. Barber was known to exercise in sauna-like conditions," the coroner wrote in Monday's report.
