They've also elevated Darrynton Evans from the practice squad with Monty out.

Read that he usually offseasons in Florida so it's most likely something to do with the hurricane. Maybe he has family there that was impacted.Ditka’s dictaphone wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 4:28 pm I wish Cairo all the best with his personal issues.

It feels hard to pick the Bears to score points but the Giants will have an even harder time, especially on a short week. I think the Bears get an extra one on a short field and otherwise it’s a close ugly game

Taking some odd joy in being wrong. Let’s hope I’m right this week.
On the road, I don’t exactly expect the passing game to suddenly materialize. Heavy doses of Herbert and Ebner today. I like Ebner to do something special.
On defense, they playing a QB that is a turnover machine. I like the Bears to have 3 take-aways and the pass rush to show up.
Great time for Jaylon Johnson to be out as the NYG receivers are pretty decimated with injuries. Let’s see if Roquan continues to get comfortable playing the WLB in this scheme and if the Bears can start making progress from being at the bottom of the league in run defense.

GAME DAY BITCHES!!!!
Here we are. Our Beloved are 2-1 and facing a very beatable Giants team. This week's key to the game? The Giants stink and the Bears need to air them out. You can put money on the fact that the Giants are going to be loading the box against Justin. After putting up 281 yards on the ground last week, the Giants are going to have 7-8 guys in there on just about every play. Daring Fields to throw the ball. He HAS to do a better job this week if the Bears are going to win. No doubt we will run the ball, and I expect we'll get near 200 yards on the ground again. The defense has to come to play as well. Granted NY is missing a couple key wide receivers, but they still have Barkley, and he is playing at an elite level this year. If the Bears can throw for 200-225 yards and two TD's with no INT's, we win this game in a walk.

I'd like to see them actually unleash Fields, let him pass and pass and pass again even if he makes mistakes. Of course, it's going to be hard to do this if the Bears gash the Giants on the ground the first few drives. No team wants to lose games and do anything to lessen their chances to win. But this team needs to build for next season and beyond.

Problem is coaches’ first job is to win games, so they won’t sacrifice overall outcomes at the expense of player development. I too want to see if Fields can just let it fly, maybe even introduce some tempo into his drives. But we all know what could backfire epically and ruin it all for the success of the team. Fields has to show far more than what he has in order to get to the point he can be given more rope. Somehow someway I hope that day is today.Grizzled wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 10:11 am I'd like to see them actually unleash Fields, let him pass and pass and pass again even if he makes mistakes. So I'm watching the Fox News pregame show (I never do this I have no idea why I'm doing so today.) and they did this segment on Cooper Rush.
Apparently the Cowboys have somebody open the car door for him when he gets to the stadium.
For Cooper Rush.

Contain? What's that?
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

We might be able to win this game if all the Giant players get hurt.

They are blitzing a lot to stop our run game and get QB pressure. We need to call more screens or other quick stuff to make them pay for doing that.

Defense and pass protection have been pretty bad in the first half
Fields with a couple of very nice throws - and some notable misfires. He looks better - and also seemed to be hurt on the play before the half

Why is Ebner starting the 2nd half?

Third quarter is starting just like the first quarter did - Bears have to settle for another FG from Badger.

It really helps us that Jones has an ankle.
