The past month has been a fun ride to be on watching Fields do some things that I think only he can do and then sprinkle in some improvement on other things he needs to get better at. He's likely out until after the bye week so even making predictions isn't going to be as fun. But let's see what we can come up with.
Fields is likely out and Siemian will be starting. Making him I think the 50th QB to start a game since the last time a Bears' QB started every game in back to back seasons (1976-77, Bob Avellini). The plan of attack will have to change and Siemian will have to do more with his arm than Fields has done as he won't be able to do as much with his legs. Siemian is going to help Fields by showing him what "open" means at this level and will let some balls fly early. Nothing crazy by NFL standards but he will get 275 yards passing and 3 TDs (Kmet, Claypool and Mooney) and will chip in 35 yards on the ground (he can run a bit). Monty will be the bell cow we all know (and some love). He carries the ball 34 times for 136 and a 4 yard average per run to go with his TD run.
Eddie Jackson has a meeting with the defense and lets them know in his opinion with Fields out, they have to play perfect and might need a shutout and a defensive score to win (although Seimian shows that to not be the case). But the defense listens to his plea and out and not only shuts down the Jets, but delivers 2 defensive scores. Sanborn records his first picks six and his first strip/sack forced fumble that Robinson scoops up and darts 28 yards for a score.
Bears - 42
Jets - 0
(as a side note, I also increase my lead of most points scored in Middleguard's competition).
Jets defense is no joke, and the Bears will be without Fields if the Bears are smart ... the Jets offense is having issues and may have more since their QB is a jerkface ... I don't see a lot of points being scored, but even with Simien at the helm, the Bears offense should be good enough for 20 points, which should be good enough to win

I actually think ARBear’s description is pretty close. We’re going to see what an on time and in rhythm QB can do passing in this offense. Although I don’t think we come out with a W, we get to see our receivers in the Getsy offense for the first time all year. Kmet and Claypool shine.
The Bears-Jets game Sunday might end up being a battle between backup quarterbacks.
Jets coach Robert Saleh told reporters Monday night that he was “keeping everything on the table” when it comes to deciding whether to replace Zach Wilson.
Saleh wouldn’t say who could take the second-year quarterback’s place. Mike White, who made three starts last year, is the Jets’ second-stringer. Third-stringer Joe Flacco, though, started the first three games this season.
“We’ve all got to be able to sit back and look at what’s best for this organization and this team,” he said.
Wilson is coming off a disastrous showing in a 10-3 loss to the Patriots on Sunday. He was sacked four times and went 9-for-22 for 77 yards and a 50.8 passer rating. His postgame performance was almost as bad. Wilson seemed to shirk responsibility by saying that he didn’t feel like he let down a Jets defense that allowed only three points.
“I don’t think it’s indicative of how he feels about his team or teammates,” Saleh said. “I don’t think he’s naïve to the fact that the offense didn’t play to the best of their ability.”
The Jets totaled seven yards in the second half and averaged 2.1 yards per play for the game.
The pessimist in me can see an opening screen pass to Monty for 6, followed by a playaction TD pass to Claypool. Then 5 consecutive 3 and out drives with little creativity.
Then Siemian goes rogue and throws down field, completes it, rushes up to the line tries a quick slant and throws it right to the LB

I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!
