For anyone who isn't aware and might be interested, single-game Bears tickets go on sale tomorrow.

A rundown of the Bears' all-time records versus their 2023 opponents. Disgraceful that the Puke and Viqueens are ahead on wins. But they're also behind versus the Commandos, Saints, and Browns. Time to make some corrections in '23:

The Great Hope is that JF1 will lead the Bears over the next 10 years to catch up and retain the lead against Green Bay (10 games) and the Vike (8 games). Both of these are achievable if JF1 ascends and becomes a long term franchise QB. Farve and especially Rodgers caught up and overtook the Bears, after they fell behind as many as 20 games by the early '90s. This is achievable IF JF1 delivers.

Not to put pressure on the kid or anything... but IMO he's pretty icy.

I don't really care about the other teams, because its mostly ancient history and nobody's really counting unless there are bad streaks going - like the one against the Eagles that I'd like to see corrected ASAP.

Man... at GB in January sort of sucks. BUT... it might be playoff-relevant (for the Bears), so awesome - beat the Pack to make the playoffs! One down, 9 more to go.

No. No, I don't.

I don't want any midweek football, ever, unless it includes 6+ days off on both sides.

I'm really torn because I like to feed my football jones on Thursdays - just prefer it not be the Bears. lol

I wonder... do you think the short weeks might favor the younger (theoretically more fit & quicker recovery) team a little bit?

Yeah, I can see younger teams having a slight advantage in, or after, short-week games.

I hate them because they're terrible for player short and long-term health.

I'm reading Packers @ Bears Week 1

Alright, I need ya'll to talk to me here.

My Chicago Bears fandom started as early as I could remember but for the sake of discussion we can say the overwhelming majority of my obsession coincided with the Packers kicking our fucking asses.

Brett Favre: 23-13 against us over 16 seasons

Aaron Rodgers: 25-5 against us over 14 seasons

That's 30 straight years of us getting our asses kicked to the tune of 48 wins and 18 losses.

I'm sure it's PTSD, but someone tell me why I'm terrified Jordan Love is going to light us up and Justin Fields is going to flop week 1

The trepidation is justified.

My one "good voice in my head" about this is reminding me that a big part of that one-sided result was the Bears' own lack of taking care of their own business and fielding a worthy team for long stretches - with only a few bright spots in between, that burned out fast because it wasn't sustainble. There WAS a period of time we remember where Lovie's Bears competed well against the Pack - at one streak winning 7 of 9. It looked at that time that the short Pack dominance in Favre's early career was done. But then Rodgers came along, and instead of building a team from the ground-up to compete like Poles is doing the Bears tried way too many shortcuts (succeeding only a small fraction of the time). I liked it too at the time - buying Cutler and all the FAs like Marshall, TBU, and all the desperate moves the Bears made trying to compete. Long story short, looking back on it I am thinking the Bears did a lot of that to themselves. Most of those Pack teams were just "good", and not necessarily great. They lost to a lot of other teams.

So I do believe.... "this time is different".

Huge game "right out of the gate." Justin is 0-4 against the Packers. A win will give the Bears some nice momentum. A loss - to Jordan Love no less - will ramp up the pressure on #1 and the whispers about Caleb Williams will commence

Why they don't incorporate Thursday nights with bye weeks is beyond me.

Well, no.
No, it'$ not beyond me.
But it'$ $till a ridiculou$ plan for a league purportedly intent on player $afety.

Im with you here. I am not happy its the Packers week 1. Besides 06, that always goes poorly. God please let Fields come out with 300 yards passing, 100 yards rushing and 4 TDs week 1

'60s: Regular Pack stompings but they were pretty much doing that to everyone
'70s: An ugly decade, neither team exactly lit it up
'80s: Early part, not too decisive for either team until the Bears machine clicked in and took over
'90s: Bears really started to fall apart, Pack got Favre, ended up pretty ugly
'00s: Ugly until mid-decade when the Bears had a nice run
The rest, we all know the story.

That's alot of time for Watson to get back up to speed playing QB or getting arrested. It could go either way

Right there with you. No bigger game 1 than when you play GB. A loss would be crushing. A victory would be nice.
