I'm thinking of changing my "stream" for TV, and it turns out the YouTube TV will be getting the NFL Sunday Ticket - coming this fall. Many of you may not be so sad to drop DirecTV for this.
I have been a pirate for many years, but I may change my pirating ways if the price is right. I'll catch an occasional game not involving the Bears, but for the most part I will spend my football viewing time cheering on the team that Halas started. I don't know if they'll offer single game pricing instead of paying for all of the games. Probably not, but I'd rather just pay for Bears games.
For now I use Sling for streaming but I'm looking to change. So my question for my BFO brethren: do you use YouTube TV? Satisfied with the service? They do offer a two week free trial and some spring specials for NFL Sunday Ticket so now would be the time to sign up.

San Francisco has always been my favorite booing city. I don't mean the people boo louder or longer, but there is a very special intimacy. Music, that's what it is to me. One time in Kezar Stadium they gave me a standing boo.

I use Direct TV stream (no NFL package) but will be trying YouTube tv on their trial basis to see if I want to change the whole package or just add YouTube during the NFL season. The Dofu app is ok but too much lag, dropped connections.

The price for YouTube's Sunday package has been announced. YouTube TV subscribers can add NFL Sunday Ticket at a presale price of $249 for the season, $100 off what will be the $349 retail price. YouTube TV will offer a package including the popular NFL RedZone channel with NFL Sunday Ticket for $289 for the season — $100 off the retail price of $389 for the season.

Bears games are still free for local peeps. I get them free in central IL.
I use Youtube TV and have been pleased. My only gripe, and it is minor, they do not have the ability to go back to the last channel you watched. Sling had it, hulu had it.

I've had DirectV since 2004 for the Ticket but just switched to Hulu in January. It takes a while to get used to scrolling up or down instead of puching a number, but every other facet of it is as good or better than DirecTV. I will probably switch to YouTube this fall so I can get the Ticket again, even at those insane prices (which I think has more to do with the NFL than it does Alphabet).

For anyone with sticker shock. Find a friend locally who wants to share. It should be pretty easy to share a Sunday Ticket stream from different households as long as you're both in the same market. Up to 3 even. That's assuming the Sunday Ticket works like regular YTTV.
If you're in different markets it might be a bit more complicated, but may be doable.

Can you watch historical games on that or games this season that just happened? I'm not seeing it anywhere.
Say it's Monday and I want to watch the Chiefs v Bengals game from yesterday.
Or
I want to watch a Bears game from 5 years ago.
Another question. Say that CBS isn't televising the game Tony Romo is calling. If I switch to that game, is it Tony Romo calling the game or do they have their own announcers?

I use NFL Game Pass right now for the historical games from years ago and then the games I missed on Sunday that I watch during the week.dplank wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 8:51 amI think you need an NFL.COM subscription for that? The Marshall Plan wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 8:47 am Can you watch historical games on that or games this season that just happened? Hey Otis, YouTube has it as well. Press the down arrow on your remote twice and you'll see the last 3 stations you had on. Press a third time to choose one.

a little over $70 per month. (just went up so I don't remember exactly) I like it. Used FUBO for awhile which got more football in the fall, but YouTube has more of my wife's channels.

Is the NFL package available without a YTTV subscription?
Pardon a dumb question, but I'll get a quicker, better answer here than from Google.

So much road and so few places, so much friendliness and so little intimacy, so much flavour and so little taste.

Yes, but it's $100/year more if you don't have a YTTV subscription. As usual, the package doesn't include Thursday night, Saturday, International, Sunday night, or Monday night games.

It's $72.99 per month for YouTube tv with a $30 package of Showtime-StRz--HBO. The football package is $349 per season if you're not a subscriber. The Red Zone package is $289 for subscribers so I'm assuming it's $389 for no subscription.

Assuming dvr settings are the same, you can just set your recordings preferences and it will keep recordings for 9 months. I don't know if it would be available On Demand if you don't set recording. Good news is dvr is really simple to set up and you shouldn't need to set it up each week - as long as the program is set up right. The Marshall Plan wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 8:47 am Can you watch historical games on that or games this season that just happened? Not sure about broadcast, but I think it's whoever is the standard broadcast and not a separate crew.

So, I have YouTube TV and yes, it has a DVR type function. I doubt you are going to be able to go back and watch anything prior though (at least through YTTV). Nothing changes as far as the broadcast goes - same announcers etc - just the platform. YouTube TV is no different than cable. The Marshall Plan wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 8:47 am Can you watch historical games on that or games this season that just happened? I'm not seeing it anywhere.

Yeah - the dvr / record function would be the way to go back and watch games. But it is super easy to set up. Just click on a game and add it to your library, and that team's available games will always be there for you.

Pluto TV has an NFL channel and they air older games all the time. I have never seen a guide as to who they are showing until I turn it on. I catch Bears games from time to time. Seems like I have seen the Denver, Marion Barber running out of bounds game a few times. they also have the "Mic ed Up episodes.

Got it; thanks. I love the Bears but hate tv, so that extra $100 would look really small, really fast. Damn my hide for living on an island with half a million wine joints and no sports bar.LacertineForest wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 11:14 amYes, but it's $100/year more if you don't have a YTTV subscription. Bainbridge. Birthplace of pickleball. The market leaves at age 18 and returns at 40, married with kids and with just enough time to sneak out of the house every Sunday during football season. We'd need some sort of pop-up sports bar that only opened for five hours a week...or one that doubled as a coworking space. Hrm. Excuse me, I'm off to make my first billion.

I had family on Bainbridge before they moved in to Issaquah. We used to go to Doc’s and Emma and Otto’s all the time.karhu wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 10:19 pmBainbridge. Birthplace of pickleball. We had a guy at school, I was probably about 12?
Anyway he looked a bit like Tattoo, not in height, just in looks.
So if he ever put his hand up in class, we (the cool kids), would always mutter “da plane boss da plane”
Even teachers used to smirk for a microsecond
We were such a bunch of assholes
