He definitely could, although no one ever seems to go that route.

I honestly think they don't care about having a power back *that* much, or they would have kept Monty for $6MM. I think the modern game is more about deception in short yardage or (until the league rules against rugby scrums) things like Philly is doing with sneaks. JF1 himself is a power back as well - although they want to avoid that unless necessary.
I'd personally rather have multiple versatile backs, like a group containing: Juice, Hunt, Rookie (e.g. Brown or Evans) and Homer.

JMO on the Rugby scrums, but I don’t want the NFL to stop the play. I like it (I like Rugby so that factors), and I think defenses need to learn how to stop it.

As soon as a QB gets a concussion from a flying defender or a lineman gets a leg bent badly the wrong way, it'll be over.
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

Like many (most?) pro FBs, he was a HB in college. And, as I've noted in the past, every single one of his measurables was better than Montgomery - bigger, stronger, faster, explosiveness, agility. It's entirely untested, as you note, but it's also entirely possible he's capable of a simple, limited role there. The Cooler King wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 8:56 amYou mean to block? Certainly not to rush (career 3 rushes for 6 yards).
A bigger problem might be - if he carries on short yardage, who lead blocks for him? Wesco?

I will probably continue to do so as well!karhu wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 12:08 amYeah, that was just a nod to the fact that for three months, everyone here seemed to be mocking Brown with our fifth-rounder.thunderspirit wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 11:38 pm
I'm not convinced it'll be Brown, but I'm willing to bet a nickel it'll be someone who played in the Senior Bowl, whether Brown or Hull or someone else.
