Is anyone else finding that Pro Day results are getting much harder to find?
I swear it was much easier 5 years ago. It's like 2005 all of a sudden.

Iowa Pro Day
Note, don't trade below the Steelers if you like Van Ness:
Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan are at Iowa's pro day watching Lukas Van Ness. That is a HUGE DEAL. Which means they are considering him in the 1st round. Brian Baldinger says Van Ness looks like TJ Watt on college tape.

Syracuse Pro Day
My Guy:
Matthew Bergeron, who has continued to climb draft boards through his performances at Senior Bowl and NFL Combine, repped 29 bench press reps at 225 lbs and posted the fastest 3-cone drill of any offensive lineman that competed at the combine (7.27 seconds).

JS-N ran a 4.48 at The Ohio State University's Pro Day. Not an unexpected number, he was never seen as a burner - his Shuttle (3.93) and his 3 Cone (6.57) were both top at the combine by a big distance for both drills.
Wouldn't move him up or down from where he was expected and I expect he'll be the first WR off the board.

SMU's Rashee Rice showed off some top-level route running in pro day:

So Dawand Jones wussied out at the Senior Bowl, only ran at the combine (and not very fast at that), and has now wussied out of his pro day. What's his problem?

A good article on Poles and his thinking on the draft, the value of the Bears staying at #1, and trading out of the pick after the Alabama pro day:
https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2023 ... t-eberflus
Poles knows the Bears are out of the running for the Tide's 2 blue chippers, Young because they don't need a QB and Anderson because of the trade. But there are several other players who the Bears are keeping an eye on. He mentions the trade giving the Bears the opportunity to add more players at positions the Bears need to fill. The article does not mention any Tide OL, who might be targets in rounds 3 and lower.

Hopefully he doesn't turn out to be one of those guys who are great in college but just can't transition their game to the pros. I don't know, if he can't cut it at RT, do they try him at G?

He was speculated to maybe have to move before the draft.
After 2 teams have hated what they saw from him at RT, it's G or nothing in my book.
Preferably LG, since he supposedly prefers that side and Carter has mostly worked at RG, I think.

I think he is getting bad advice from his agent. It isn't like he was projected top 5 pick. He was a 2nd or 3rd rounder when this started.Middleguard wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 6:45 pm So Dawand Jones wussied out at the Senior Bowl, only ran at the combine (and not very fast at that), and has now wussied out of his pro day. Curioser and curioser. Depending on who the Bears draft for RT (and Poles needs to draft a good to excellent talent), it's going to be an interesting training camp sorting out the OL.
