But I don't disagree that there were other (and, in my opinion, better) options besides the 'bama Young.
Yeah, he'd have been a luxury pick after Wilson in the first. Just me doing a double-take when I saw which Byron Young went there.
So much road and so few places, so much friendliness and so little intimacy, so much flavour and so little taste.

Friendship is better than fighting, but fighting is more useful.

Poles should be locked in an isolation tank during R3 of the draft.

Velus Jones then Zacch Pickens????

It’s like he says “round 3, let’s draft a bust who literally no other team would draft”.

Brutal round for Poles

Stromberg going to the Commanders at #97 is the first real FOMO moment I've had in two days of this draft.

Agree on RS.
I feel we missed out on JMS too.
Just can’t understand what the hell happens to Poles in R3.

Pickens????
It’s going to take a long time for me to get over this

I didn't feel the same FOMO passing up Schmidt. Nice player I thought fit the Bears okay, but I'm not at all convinced they have any interest in letting a rookie start at C. Plus, Stromberg has experience at both G spots as well as C (Schmidt does not) and would be a nice segue into waving goodbye to Whitehair next year because of that versatility. (Juice Scruggs has that as well, but he went considerably higher than I would have been interested in taking him.)

There are still other decent options for Day 3, and I will be fine if the Bears take one of those. But I'd've been very happy with Stromberg at #103.

AA has to be the next pick, right? Right!?!

Then I'd like to see Jon Gaines II taken later and developed as a center. He's played it before and his RAS is through the roof.

I take it you're not a fan of the DT's the bears chose?

That’s a weird pick by Poles
No idea what's up with Adebawore, but it's NFL-wide, not just the Bears.
Before combine he was considered a day 3 from what I heard. I have also heard Fitzgerald said the way they used him hurt his draft stock. His testing was amazing though so not sure how much weight that gets.

I’ll be wrong but I think I’d go Ringo. Load up on DT and DB and get the biggest OL need filled seems good plan.

For whatever it's worth...
Darnell Wright: 5-star recruit
Gervon Dexter Sr: 5-star recruit
Tyrique Stevenson: 4-star recruit
Zacch Pickens: 5-star recruit

True but no-one has a Defensive Line like the Bears

Pickens is a very one dimensional player, he’s round 4-5 at best, not a pick 64 :frustrated:
AA is still on the board, and you're acting like Poles is mental for passing him up ... like EVERY OTHER TEAM. Get a grip, brother.

It’s the Pickens pick.

I just do not understand what they see in him to pick him with number 64. Madness

I was a little baffled after already getting Dexter..but I like hoarding the beef!!! Big dudes help ya win, lol
NYer that fell in love with Sweetness destroying defenders with that legendary stiff arm @ 8 yrs old. I'll never forget those early days and now, after many many years we have some integral players that'll be the key to success in the very near future.

FWIW I was pretty high on Keeanu Benton but Pitt nabbed him in front of us at #49. But for those disappointed with Zacch Pickens he graded out almost identically to Benton and was a three year starter at SC. IMHO he's the 3tech guy Poles wanted to add and went where he was projected to go based on his position.

The interesting thing about Dexter is that he graded much lower than Pickens yet Dane Brugler had him ranked at #55 overall so was he actually a poor pick or a reach? While he doesn't have Akiem Hicks bulk I could see him being used more in that role as a very good run defender with some upside as pass rusher more as a bull rusher than a gap shooting 3 tech.

Unless they planned on moving Jones over we lacked a backup to Billings and Dexter may be it while Pickens will back up Jones.

When you have all night to wheel and deal. 4th round on I would rather have multiple picks later in the round than a single pick higher.

Poles is going quantity after he got his felt quality earlier.

Tyler Scott. NFL site had him projected to go in late round 2 or early round 3. Small but fast. Former sprinter. PR possibilities. Size and traits similar to Darnell Mooney. Looks to be a good pick for value here just as Mooney was.
