I'm totally with ya on Bergeron — my favorite tackle in this year's draft, though Wright has been an admittedly close 2nd — and I also feel that way about NC State G Chandler Zavala. I love both players, but don't see any way the Bears take the former, now that they drafted White, or the latter, who doesn't play anything but G (though at a high level, in my mind).

Funny, Zavala is a guy I REALLY like also ... one more is Nick Saldiveri of Old Dominion.

From Brandon Thorn's Trench Warfare:

Old Dominion OL Nick Saldiveri

Size: 6’6” 318 pounds

Stats: 35 career starts split across RT (34) and RG (one)

Age: Turns 23 years old on August 14th

Top traits:

Skilled, technically refined pass-protector

Plus athletic ability, recovery skills and balance

Reasons for concern:

Average lower body strength

Will face a significant jump in competition

Sales pitch: Saldiveri is a smooth, fluid athlete who comes from a pass-heavy scheme with the hand-fighting skills and refinement to stick at tackle in the NFL while offering enough size and strength to kick inside depending on the team needs.

Grade: Early 3rd

Heh, I'm pretty high on Saldiveri as well.

I'd like having AA on the Bears. In my original 2 rd mock I had him available at 53. I also see in the Draft Sims thread that he's still there after actual 1st rd picks have been taken into consideration. Myself, taking 1st rd picks into consideration am not too sure. Unfortunately, he's likely the first 3T to go so Poles won't know how high to trade up unless his spies are really good.

Steelers stay and take Porter for themselves.

Wonder what their best bid was. Probably a lot, considering he should have gone 10 or more sooner

Move up..to 56
Tyrique Stevenson
The 2023 NFL Draft may be deep on cornerbacks, but Tyrique Stevenson stands out for his physical playing style and length. The former Miami (Fla.) and Georgia star has the makings of a quality press-man corner and could develop into star. Although he only had three interceptions in his college career, Stevenson's contested-catch skills portend more in the future.
Seems a another good HITS pick..
